RECORD NUMBER OF NEW EXHIBITORS TO
PARTICIPATE IN 2015 RUG SHOW AT JAVITS
NEW YORK- Record-breaking participation from new and returning companies is fueling momentum for a blockbuster Rug Show at Javits to be held August 30 to September 2, 2015 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Now just three years old, the show has more than tripled in exhibitors from 15 when it debuted in 2012, to 56 and counting for the 2015 edition. The summer market also will feature the largest attendance by international dealers, and an increased number of designers from the U.S. and abroad, lending this edition a much stronger international presence.

- Although furniture and decorative accents make up the lion's share of Global
Views' offerings, rugs are a growing category for the company says David Gebhart,
CEO of Global Views. At the August 2, 2015 cocktail party following ribbon
cuttings for more than 19,000 square feet of World Market Center showroom space
for Global Views (A-153) and affiliate brand Studio A (A-129), Gebhart showed
off the first "rug room" ever done in any of the company's showrooms.
LAS VEGAS - The
party scene at Las Vegas Market was raised a notch by the elegant and
paparazzi-filled launch of the new Christopher Guy showroom in Building A. From
a ribbon cutting ceremony replete with confetti and champagne to a Casino Royale
theme inside the showroom, attendance figures were reportedly close to 500. Rug
companies were also in the event spotlight with appearances Donnie and Marie
Osmond at an Outdoor Deck party sponsored by KAS, and personal appearance by
designer Nikki Chu for the launch of her rug and accessories collection for

Oppressive heat did not deter Las Vegas Market attendees from indulging in
shopping breaks at the inspirational settings of outdoor furniture paired with
Oriental Weavers' rugs throughout the courtyard that connects all three World
Market Center buildings. "We are the largest outdoor rug producer in the world,
so it was important to make a statement this summer when Las Vegas Market placed
such heavy emphasis on casual living," said Jonathan Witt, senior vice

NEW YORK - Pasargad will officially
launch its furniture collection of upholstered seating alongside a new
contemporary rug collection at the upcoming NY Now show, says company founder
Beni Isfahany. A first-time NY Now participant, Isfahany is unsure what to
expect from the semi-annual event, but he anticipates that the company will get
brand exposure with designers and retailers. NYNow will be held August 16 to 19,
2015 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
NEW YORK - NY Now opens Sunday,
August 16, and runs for three days, with rug exhibitors expecting to build their
brand awareness, meet new customers and designers, and hopefully to find orders

appealed to buyers and designers in the market for glamorous accents of fur and
cowhide with a panoply of new product launches. Auskin, which is known globally
for its sheepskin rugs and accessories, had its new alpaca rugs prominently
displayed, along with a new launch of laser cut pillows. Three-year old
Madisons had a bold fashion color story in its cowhide rugs and Saddlemans
showed off a range of new treatments with stenciled and stamped cowhide rugs in
unexpected colors and hot new metallics.

NEW YORK - Texture went extreme with
new explorations in weave, yarn and finishing on parade at three distinctively
different rug companies exhibiting at the NY NOW show, August 15 to 19, 2015.
S&H Rugs took upcycling to new couture stature with pile cut or shaved off to
create textural drama. Nasiri is contrasting its popular designer flatweave
lines with a new Nepal collection which is richly and innovatively textured.
And Fab Habitat introduced its first two higher-end collections at the show, one
of them, Highland, in chunky weaves of jute or jute and wool blends (click

NEW YORK - The momentum is building to jewel tones in area rugs for 2016, but
the trend has been ongoing in upcycled vintage patchwork and overdyed rugs. At
Safavieh, a first-time exhibitor at NY NOW, the rugs were popular with
designers, and continue to be best-sellers at the company's retail store on
Broadway in Manhattan. F.J. Kashanian reported brisk business for saturated
color, seen in its new Afghanistan made wool Mykonos rug and stacks of over-dyed
rugs at the show.

a vast array of the newest shades of silver and gold on
Saddlemans' animal print cowhide rugs.

at the Javits Center on Sunday Aug. 16, with attendees filling the

NOW by Summit Rugs, Safavieh Couture, Pasargad, Auskin and more. Also trending
was a return to opulent weaves and classic patterns at one end of the spectrum,
while at the other end attendees found a fresh assortment of the bohemian,
vintage and global handcrafted style for which the show is known. Following is

NEW YORK - The fourth edition of the Rug Show at Javits, with nearly triple the
number of exhibitors from its debut in 2012, has expectations soaring among
top-tier rug suppliers, who are showcasing the best of the best heading into the
major fall buying season.

With so many select vendors under one roof, exhibitors are banking on the Rug
Show at Javits, which opens the fall selling season, to be a tremendous lure to
rug dealers across the US and from overseas as well. Running August 30 to
September 2, this edition features a much stronger international flavor than

for Macy's Las Vegas are an industry first that engage consumers

LAS VEGAS - Rug
galleries in Macy's Southwest region have been treated to new visual concepts
inspired by the trend to suspended displays first seen in vendors' rug
showrooms. The Fine Rug Gallery at Macy's is operated by the Kenneth Mink
organization under a license agreement. The galleries revamped to date are in
South Coast Plaza, Mission Viejo, Palm Desert and Westside Pavilion in
California, and the Macy's Las Vegas Home Store in Nevada.

LAS VEGAS - Interior designer Nikki Chu has staked a claim on neutral territory
- which happens to be the decorating palette preferred by most Americans and
most often found in their homes. But Chu's just-launched line of 16 rugs and
complementary pillows for Jaipur is anything but bland and beige. It's based on
a concept she premiered in her 52-color paint line called "The Perfect Shades of
Neutral." The paint colors, like those in her new collection for Jaipur, are
inspired by trends in fashion and built on a solutions-based approach to
decorating clients' homes.
