The top 20 news stories of 2007 reflect a major shift in direction for the rug industry. This year, vendors began to experiment with new ways to attract business by developing innovative approaches to marketing, merchandising and product coordination.
HGTV'S LANGDON GIVES DECORATING TRENDS TO LOOK FOR IN 2008
NEW YORK – With more people becoming more environmentally conscious, the "Green" movement in the home furnishings business is in to stay, according to interior designer Libby Langdon, host of HGTV’s Small Space, Big Style.

LAS VEGAS – World Market Center officials will welcome a delegation of Afghan rug producers to the United States for a special showcase on Afghanistan’s economic and cultural revival. The exhibit will be featured at the January Las Vegas Market, January 28 to February 1.

ATLANTA -- Despite a faltering economy and snowy Winter weather, the Atlanta Rug Market was better than many expected. While the official Rug Market ran January 17 to 20, many rug vendors opened their showrooms early to take advantage of the Gift & Home Furnishings Market, which was held January 8 to16.

Dunkin' Dollars were donated to the Floor Covering Industry Fund in memory of the late Alan Greenberg, a co-founder of Carpet One.
