Rug companies had much to celebrate at Las Vegas Market with designers and retailers out in force since Winter Market coincided for the first time with the annual Design & Construction Week. With the highest attendance numbers in its history, the market was backdrop for bountiful new rug launches, product line extensions, parties and anniversaries. Here are some of the highlights.

rug companies did double duty while in Las Vegas in January, first seeing home
furnishings retailers at their World Market Center showrooms for Las Vegas
Market, and then targeting flooring dealers at Surfaces, which is considered the
preeminent show for floor coverings.

Eliko Antique & Decorative Rugs said designers were the company's main
target at NY Now.
NEW YORK - Despite opening on Super Bowl Sunday and facing a major snow storm,
NY Now 2015 commanded enough foot traffic on Sunday to please many in the rug
industry. Exhibitors at the revamped furnishings fair, formerly known as the New
York International Gift Show, were there to connect with clients old and new,
and to present trend-right designs and colors rather than to launch new
products, which many makers debuted in January in Atlanta and Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Market has changed the dates for its Winter 2016 Market to Sunday, January 24 to Thursday, January 28, 2016. The shift to the last week of January allows for more space between other markets to accommodate buyers, manufacturers and designers across the US and internationally, according to Bob Maricich, chief executive officer of International Market Centers.
The International Surface Event (TISE) 2016 will be held January 20 to 22, 2016
at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas in conjunction with Design
& Construction Week 2016.

DALLAS - Informa Exhibitions U.S. announced the results of the 2015 recycling initiative at The International Surface Event (TISE) held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas last month. Over a three-day period, January 21 to 23, more than 84 exhibitors committed to donating, and 140,765 pounds of gently used floor covering, stone and tile products were collected. Mountain Re-Source Center and its subsidiary, Tile Partners for Humanity, along with Informa Exhibitions U.S., led this initiative with joint participation and support from the Freeman Companies, United Services and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

high-end department store Century 21, Rugs America has dramatically expanded its

PAWTUCKET, RI - Colonial Mills, previously referred to as CMI, has decided to go back to its roots and rebrand itself with the company's original name. Additionally, the braided rug and home accessories company, in business since 1978, has a new logo that reflects this change with a contemporary logo mark that graphically depicts its innovative approach to braid.

Surya launched DwellStudio licensed rugs last fall with transitional
