LAS VEGAS - A handful of rug companies are opening a new frontier as pioneer rug exhibitors at this week's first Las Vegas World Market Center Show. However, industry executives will be here in large numbers to observe the event and perhaps jump on the Las Vegas bandwagon.

LAS VEGAS - Rugs, hard surface flooring and carpeting will have a centralized exhibit area when Building Three of the Las Vegas World Market Center is completed in late 2007, according to Jack Kashani, managing partner of the World Market Center.

330 MAY STORES TO CONVERT TO MACY'S AS MACY'S BRAND BECOMES NATIONAL
CINCINNATI -- The Macy's name will become a completely national department store brand in 2006. Approximately 330 of the regional department stores now operated by The May Co. will become Macy's stores under the plan, according to Federated Department Stores, Inc.
CALHOUN, Ga. -- Mohawk Industries, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Unilin Holding NV, a manufacturer and marketer of laminate flooring. Unilin, based in Belgium, markets laminate products under the name Quick-Step.
MOMENI TO OPEN NEW ATLANTA FACILITY; MOVING SALE NOW IN PROGRESS
NEW YORK-- Momeni, Inc. is moving to an expanded distribution center in Atlanta. The move is expected to be completed by the end of August 2005. "Until that time, the company is offering specials and discounts on many programmed rugs," according to Austin Craley, vice president of sales.
