HIGH POINT - As much marketing strategist as product designer, Jena Hall is no stranger to capturing consumer hearts and minds with themed cross category home collections. Nonetheless, when asked by Thomasville to create a line that would resonate with Millennials and garner success on par with the brand's record-breaking Hemingway and Bogart collections, the challenge was a tall order, even for Hall, an interior designer and American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame inductee.

DALLAS - Feizy has announced the finalists for its new Haute Trends collection following a national search that was launched at Las Vegas Market in August, 2015. The company has spent the last three months looking for what it considers "the best of the best" for Haute Trends, a unique concept in rug collections. HARTFORD, CT - J. Namnoun Oriental Rug Gallery held a presentation headlined by rug expert and author Alix G. Perrachon on Oct. 22 at its showroom here. "This was our first in-store book signing event, and we attracted a great blend of consumers and designers. We are a small boutique and it brought a buzz to our company," explained owner Marianne Donahue, who says she read Perrachon's book, The Decorative Carpet: Fine Handmade Rugs in Contemporary Interiors, when it was first published. "Alix succeeded in writing the book I always dreamed of writing myself," added Donahue, an interior designer by trade.
Rug sales are up 15 percent in the last 12 months at Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Despite a dip in sales for some flooring dealers in the August-September time frame, 2015 has been a relatively healthy year for area rugs, with some merchants reporting high single-digit to low double-digit gains over 2014. In many cases, rugs outperformed other flooring categories.

HAIG PEDIAN ADDS CARPET GALLERIES AT OSCAR ISBERIAN STORES

Haig Pedian, Sr., 91-year-old industry icon, sold Pedian Rug Company in 2003 and retired--unsuccessfully. "I missed the interaction with people. I couldn't stay home," says Pedian Sr. "I have to be doing something." Fortuitously, his nephews, Sarkis and Oscar Tatosian, owners of Isberian Rugs, had been planning to add carpeting to their rug business, and tapped Haig's expertise.

Woven in Jaipur, India, the rug represents the retailer's storied history, which intertwines legendary Chicago rug families, now working together at the three Isberian stores.
