30+ RUGS YOU NEED TO SEE AT LAS VEGAS MARKET THIS SUMMER, PART 1
LAS VEGAS -- As competition continues to heat up at Las Vegas Market, rug makers are offering retailers and designers plenty of reasons to stop by their showrooms this summer.
Newcomers, along with several expanding and relocating home resources at the Sin City show include NYC's Creative Touch and Bokara (read full story), while Big Apple showroom Rug & Kilim more recently announced it will test the Vegas event in the Pavilions (read more).
So as the pack continues to grow, rug makers have to push fashion and style, plus weaving and fiber innovations to the limit, while keeping prices as competitive as possible. Summer delivers no shortage of fashion driven rugs that showcase the season's most popular color palettes that naturally include plenty of grays and blues. But there is also a growing roster of warmer beiges and browns. Gold tones get woven into designs for a luxe, sophisticated finish. And moody black and charcoal designs will make an appearance at summer Vegas markets for a dramatic touch.
However, buyers and designers looking for something more vibrant will find bright spots in the showrooms of rug makers, where many showcase new combinations that include mustards, pinks, reds, greens and foil stamped metallics in both silver and gold.
In terms of styles, traditional motifs are reworked in updated palettes which include faded and pastel-like looks, while rich and saturated color stories remain popular too. As do oversized geometric and floral motifs, which quite often will incorporate intricate carving or high-low effects to achieve the texture that shoppers are always on the hunt for. In addition, softness, again frequently paired with a high-low pile, continues to be a buzz word among shoppers.
Below, find out what some of the top looks will be at showrooms from A to K. Make sure not to miss Part 2, to see the rugs from showrooms from L to U.
