MARKET SCOOP: THE LATEST HIGH POINT AREA RUGS , PART 1


HIGH POINT, N.C. -- With the rug industry booming, rug makers are amping up their area rug selection to cash in on a steaming market. And the fall High Point Market is brimming with newsworthy introductions.

Innovation in design, texture, weave and coloration continue to allow High Point exhibitors to offer plenty of fresh styles for shoppers. And new license programs (by Bokara, Brink & Campman, HRI, Loloi, Momeni, NourisonOrientalist Home and Samad) featuring names such as Florence Broadhurst, Madcap Cottage, Rifle Paper Co. and Wesley Mancini, are expected to add to the excitement. And that doesn't include popular, existing licensed programs, such as ED Ellen DeGeneres and Calvin Klein, among others, who are also adding to their lines. Finally, a group of new or expanded area rug showrooms offer market-goers something else to look forward too and includes some newcomers like Kalaty and Unique Loom (read full story).
