|LR RESOURCES GROWS RUG ASSORTMENT; CONTINUES TO INVEST IN HOME ACCESSORIES
LR Resources expands its home accessories program as sales in the category continue to grow.
HIGH POINT, N.C. -- LR Resources expects its latest rollouts at High Point to contribute to strong spring sales as it debuts new rug collections and designs, and also continues to expand its home accessories program.
"Spring 2019 market should be better than spring 2018 -- the year has started off well," Mike Thompson, vice president sales, direct division/GM, told RugNews.com. "We are doing some occasional furniture in addition to rugs, throws, pillows and poufs, because rug specialists are adding to their offerings with small furniture items, framed art, pillows, throws and so on. They need to offer more to attract a variety of prospects."

While the company's core area rug business -- and notably its Naturals collection -- remains its bread-and-butter, LR Resources' accessories sales continue to gain ground and will be on show alongside area rugs at its 3450 Showplace showroom.
"We have been offering pillows and throws for about five or six years," Thompson explained. "We have just gone a little heavier into that category over the years because sales in pillows and throws are really strong online."
To better reflect its product range, LR Resources began introducing a new brand and logo under the LR Home label. "The name LR Resources always left questions in people's mind about what we did -- LR Home tells our story better," Thompson noted.
The company began formally announcing its label last July with new signage in its Atlanta showroom. It then presented its new LR Home. "LR Home is branded as a brand that is more relevant to what we do," he added.
For High Point market-goers the company introduced new collections including Outlander, a machine-made version of classic Moroccan shags with braided fringe and a suggested retail of $249 in 5x7.

In addition, LR Resources also introduced Imagine, another machine-made assortment crafted with a dense construction of shrink polyester and polypropylene for a high-low effect.
"Both Outlander and Imagine are very high-quality machine-made designs -- we are coming out with better construction in machine-mades and these along with our successful Gaia [released last year] are steps in a higher quality direction. Imagine is a very nice construction with cotton backing and really small serge that looks a lot like a hand-made rug, and will retail between$299-$349 in a 5x8."
In addition, fans of the company's Naturals franchise can look forward to new designs. "We are always trying to add color and design to that program, and we are revealing about eight new looks at market," Thompson said.
