NEW YORK -- Rug executives participating in the New York Home Fashions Market gave the late September event a thumbs up saying the show will help them close out the year strong.
The semi-annual show has become increasingly important for rug vendors targeting big box and e-tailers, forcing rug makers to step up their fast-fashion games. In fact, for New York shoppers, rug makers must be able to offer fresh unique looks that target all the right interior design trends at the right price - and enough designs to satisfy demands for exclusivity. CARPET ART DECO
Canadian rug manufacturer Carpet Art Deco showcased its new Modave collection of high-low designs to appeal to buyers looking for texture.
With plenty of recent introductions in the machine-made category -- and now hand-loomed and -tufted -- Couristan offered choices like the popular hand-loomed Batam collection.
Dynamic Rugs' first 2 million point machine-woven collection, Ruby, was a hit with retailers looking to trade up.
Feizy's Ainsley collection, which features an on-point palette of black, blue, gray and ivory, was showcased in two room vignettes to great success.
GA Gertmenian continues to grow its collaboration with top home brands, adding the plush new Wilton-woven Aria collection to its Broyhill offering.
HAROUNIAN RUGS INTERNATIONAL (HRI)
HRI introduced several new machine-made collections, including Devon, geared toward big-box buyers shopping NY Home Fashions Market.
Home Dynamix focused NY on its growing roster of licensed programs, including a new Shabby Chic brand collection called Pastel.
Kalaty debuts its new NYC showroom in 295 Fifth Ave. and offers market attendees a look at its chic new machine-made collections.
Kas Rugs introduces Athena, a sister collection to its popular viscose Provence. Athena reworks its viscose designs in lighter greens and corals for big box shoppers wanting a taste of spring.
Linon silk-like Emerald collection of affordably priced, highly detailed printed area rugs now includes 40 styles.
