S&H RUGS' HIGH POINT INTRODUCTIONS PROVE A HIT WITH MARKET SHOPPERS

S&H Rugs introduces the hand-knotted Lava Sari Silk design featuring 32 colors, which was its top seller at the Fall 2019 High Point Market.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Original designs, vivid color palettes and a broad choice of hand-knotted rug price points drew a steady stream of designers and dealers to S&H Rugs' Suites at Market Square exhibit space at the October 2019 edition of High Point Market.

Reporting that top sellers ranged from bold contemporary looks in sari silk to refreshed classics in the debuting Afghanistan-produced Angora Oushak collection, S&H Rugs' account manager Maria Vasquez said, "We've been very busy.  We're having a great show."

Owner Ori Wilbush (center) and the S&H team take a break from a busy market to pose for a photo op for RugNews.com.

"Our new Lava design was the best seller at market -- it was like a magnet bringing customers into our booth. We showed it in two colorways, but the rug in primary colors was more popular. And, our new Ikat design in jewel tones was the second top-seller. Both of these rugs are made with 100 percent sari silk and we incorporate 32 colors in the design. They did so well, they will be programmed into our line."

S&H Rugs' vibrant 32-color interpretation of a classic ikat style, hand-knotted of sari silk, was a favorite among High Point buyers.

S&H's new Angora Oushak collection, hand-knotted in 100 percent wool and part of the company's popular Oushak and Peshawar range, also got top billing from buyers. These rugs are S&H's first to be produced in Afghanistan and the initial five classic designs of the assortment are reworked in modern color combinations and updated pattern placement.

"Our Angora Oushak collection made in Afghanistan was another top seller," Vasquez continued. "Customers loved the quality -- we wash it 10 times to make it look antique. They look exactly like Turkish Oushaks but at a much better price. Based on the response here, some of the designs will be programmed, and we are already designing more."

S&H Rugs, known for its color and trend-driven hand-knotted designs, also rolled out these new looks for High Point buyers:
