NEW YORK -- Jan Kath Design - NYC in collaboration with Haas Art Advisoryannounces an exhibition of New York based artist Mark Gagnon.
The exhibition runs from March 15th - April 12th at the New York Jan Kath showroom, and features a curated selection of Jan Kath carpets along with Gagnon's papier-mache sculptures previously on display at Bergdorf Goodman and the New York Historical Society.
The exhibit includes 10 of Gagnon's pieces plus one painting, all displayed with Jan Kath handmade carpets.
Established over 25 years ago, Jan Kath is one of the world's most in-demand designers of modern bespoke carpets. He purposely breaks with conventional styles and throws strict design rules overboard, blurring the lines between the art world and luxury carpets, a spokesperson explained.
The New York based Gagnon has been featured in The New Yorker, Visionaire, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, Rolling Stone, Interview, GQ, V, Vogue, Travel and Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and Wallpaper, along with many other publications.
From 2010-2018 Bergdorf Goodman commissioned Gagnon for solo installations featuring his sculptures in their Fifth Avenue windows.
The Erased Heritage collection rug, Tabriz Fashion Artwork by Jan Kath, is woven of wool and silk.
