LAS VEGAS -- Kaleen Rugs unveils not only a renovated Las Vegas showroom (C407) at the summer 2019 market, but also rolls out an innovative new area rug construction and plenty of fresh designs for market-goers.
Of the Vegas showroom redesign, Monty Rathi, chief operating officer, Kaleen, told RugNews.com, "We have a completely refreshed and professionally designed the space so that not only shows off our gorgeous new products, but also reflects the refreshed image of Kaleen.
"This space is unlike any other Kaleen has done before and we hope to take certain elements of it and work them into all of our showrooms moving forward. This space will educate our guests on how our products are made and why they are truly unique. We are literally putting our story on the wall for everyone to read -- a story of craftsmanship, quality and caring for our fellow human beings and environment, the story of Kaleen."
Rathi is expecting a busy market. "We'll have better attendance over the 2018 summer market," he said, "as we have changed our strategy for attending markets. We have pulled out of the Atlanta Gift Show so that we could focus more of our attention on creating this entirely new and exciting space at World Market in Las Vegas. We did this for several reasons, the most important being that we felt our buyers and sales reps were no longer attending Atlanta."
NEXT UP, HILARY FARR
Canadian designer and TV celeb Hilary Farr readies her first area rug collection being released in collaboration with Kaleen Rugs this fall.
Looking ahead, Kaleen will be focusing its efforts on another big move this year, Rathi said. "We are excited about our Hilary by Hilary Farr launch happening this October at High Point Market where Hilary will be appearing in our showroom to introduce her exciting new line of high-quality, beautiful rugs." In April, Kaleen announced the launch of its new licensing partnership with Canadian home designer and TV celebrity Hilary Farr, who co-hosts HGTV's Love It or List It.
Kaleen introduces its new Lustrous collection in Vegas, showcasing a new tufted construction with an innovative metallic element.
The revamped Vegas space will highlight some of Kaleen's latest area rug introductions including its brand new Lustrous and Atacama collections.
Debuting in Vegas Lustrous is inspired by runway looks from Milan's 2019 spring fashion shows. Lustrous features edgy metallic elements mixed with high-fashion colors and luxe materials. Hand-tufted and made from 100 percent wool, these rugs are crafted on a silver or gold metallic printed foil base with a low pile. And, each design is then hand carved into the rug and finished with Kaleen's signature cotton canvas backing.
The Dalton-Georgia rug maker will also roll out its latest jute and wool blend assortment called Atacama, which is a range of hand-woven flatweave area rugs. The handwoven Atacama collection is inspired by the art of ancient cultures. Atacama's seven designs blend 60 percent natural jute, 30 percent wool and 10 percent cotton, and feature a low pile and open back construction making them as easy-to-care-for as they are dramatic.

Finally, Kaleen adds nine new designs to its best-selling Helena collection. Inspired by classic designs, Helena rugs are hand-tufted from 100 percent premium virgin wool and are available in a selection of borderless designs.

SHOWROOM'S DESIGN CONCEPT
Kaleen's World Market C407 showroom was re-imagined by Los Angeles-based, award-winning commercial interior designer, merchandiser and showroom designer Jennifer Lanna, whose design was inspired by the company's diverse product offerings. "When dreaming up my vision for the new Kaleen showroom, I was so inspired by their rug collections from Modern to Bohemian.
"Their luxe textures, rich colors, and intricate designs inspired my vision for their space which utilizes luxurious materials in a warm, bold color palette, dynamic shapes and patterns. The space evokes the elegant yet on-trend aesthetic of the Kaleen brand. Kaleen's expansive collections hold something suitable for every decor theme, so we are displaying their rugs in a variety of themed vignettes to showcase their versatility."
Adds Brian Brigham, Kaleen's director of marketing and public relations: "Beauty and function coexist perfectly in our new space. Yes, the space will visually be transformed, but we also wanted it to be relaxing for customers and guests. We have added more seating and meeting areas with comfortable furnishings and are even planning a new space for our reps. We will continue to host our usual daily lunches and afternoon happy hours while continuing to offer such amenities as high-speed Wi-Fi and charging stations for cell phones and laptops."
