NEW YORK -- S&H Rugs heads to the fashion-driven NY Now show at Jacob Javits Convention Center with an on point selection of its latest Modern & Contemporary collection designs.
The New Jersey-based area rug maker -- with an offering of about 10,000 in-stock rugs, an online presence updated daily and same day shipping -- has carved a niche for itself among interior designers, rug and furniture stores and department stores, for not only its customer service but also its assortment of fine decorative area rugs. And for NY Now show shoppers the company turns the focus to its growing collection of modern and contemporary styled area rugs.
"Every year we are growing and 2017 was up from 2016," Ori Wilbush, president of S&H, told RugNews.com. "When the general economy is doing well it directly affects our business positively.
"Modern, overdyed and tribal and geometric rugs were the leaders in sales, while the traditional curvilinear and flowery designs and qualities hit a new low for us. Also, being one of the pioneers that invested heavily in showing our entire inventory online has paid off and proven a strategy that works in this ever more digital environment."
For NY Now shoppers, S&H Rugs puts its most contemporary and modern foot forward. Shown, an abstract hi-low wool and silk hand-knotted (Sh39616).
For NY Now attendees, which go to the show seeking the newest styles, S&H highlights fresh looks ranging from updated oushak-influenced motifs in tone-on-tone colorations, to hi-low abstract and hand-loomed modern geometrics as well. Catering to those seeking natural looks, the company also adds to its hand-spun undyed wool rugs offering. And for the uber trend conscious, it presents designs in Ultra Violet, the Pantone Color of the Year 2018.
In addition to its on point fashion merchandise, S&H spent some of 2017 ramping up its custom capabilities to improve turn-around times on bespoke projects. The company has a team of trained graphic designers and a weaving team overseas that focuses strictly on special and custom orders. With the foundations laid, "We are looking forward to an even better 2018," Wilbush noted.
