WHAT'S NEW: 25+ REASONS TO HEAD TO ATLANTA MARKET

ATLANTA -- Change is afoot in Atlanta, where the recent merger of International Market Centers and the AmericasMart is bringing with it a rash of rug showroom relocations. What's more, fashions are shifting and a trending unexpected neutral revitalizes the palette in summer's top new area rug introductions.

Among the rug vendors moving to new spaces for the upcoming Atlanta International Area Rug Market, running from July 11-15, is Liberty Rugs (1, 4-G4), which moves into F.J. Kashanian's old space. Kashanian relocates to the third floor of Building 1 with suite 3-D22.

New York's Mastour Galleries signs a new lease and will exhibit on Floor 5 in space 5-E16. Other moves include Amer Rugs, which gains a 6,500 square foot showroom in Building 1, 6-D9 (read more); Anadol Rugs Co. showcases its Oushaks and more in Building 1, 3-E19; and Harounian Rugs International (HRI) relocates its expanding product assortments to 4-D1 (read more). Safavieh will soft launch its new space in Building 1, 3-F2 (Nourison's former high-visibility showroom), with a grand opening planned for the January 2019 market; and Smyrna Trading will be found at 3-F3.

With AmericasMart consolidating some of its temporary floors for summer market, including The Gardens in Building 2, Trans-Ocean has chosen to move from its longtime spot in The Gardens to a new location in Building 3 on the 5th floor, 5-212.  "We have a tremendous gift store and garden center following, which already shops this Gift floor, so it was a natural choice for us. Our major customers will follow us to this floor as well," explained Dean Smith, vice president of sales, Trans-Ocean Imports.

In addition to checking out all these new area rug exhibition spaces, summer shoppers will also be able to pick up the selling season's trending new color.

Across styles and tastes, from traditional to modern, from transitional to contemporary, beige is popping up everywhere and proves to be the "It" color of the summer -- the warm neutral making a comeback after several years of cool grey stealing the limelight.
