G. FRIED WINS SPHINX DISPLAY CONTEST
G.Fried of Westbury, NY won the Sphinx Rug Gallery Contest for most creative display of the new Sphinx Options Reversible rug collection.
WESTBURY, NY – Top executives from Oriental Weavers Sphinx recently visited G. Fried Carpet & Design Center here to congratulate owner Wendy Fried for the store's outstanding display of the Sphinx Options reversible rug collection. Fried was presented with an iPad , the top prize in the Sphinx Options Rug Gallery Contest.
Sphinx conducted the contest to challenge dealers to develop innovative and creative displays for the innovative product. Over 70 stores participated in the contest.
“Wendy Fried developed the most spectacular presentation,†said Michael Riley, president of Oriental Weavers. “Wendy has been doing a great job with our new line of reversible rugs, and her rug gallery tells the story of how your décor can be changed with a 'flip' of a rug.â€
Pat Muschamp, Oriental Weavers' vice president of sales, noted that choosing a winner was difficult.
“Making the final decision was very tough, but we kept coming back to G. Fried, †he said. “There were a lot of innovative entries. It proved to be a worthwhile experience with not only our Options customers, but with our sales force who worked very hard with their dealers to try and come up with the most creative reversible rug shop in the country.â€
The Options and Options Sylk collections were introduced during the January 2010 Atlanta rug market. "These are the world’s first truly reversible tufted rugs. The authorized dealers that have supported this line have seen tremendous success with these collections," according to Riley. "Sphinx has supported this revolutionary new line through newspaper and magazine ads and direct mail to bring consumers to dealers’ floors."
The Options collection is hand-tufted of wool and retails for $599 for a 5’x8’ . Options Sylk is a collection of hand-tufted wool with viscose highlights that retail for $799 for the 5’x8’ size.
