SAFAVIEH ADDS STORE ON LONG ISLAND'S 'MIRACLE MILE'

On May 15, Safavieh Home Furnishings will open its new 12,500-foot retail showroom in Manhasset, Long Island's upscale shopping district known as the "Miracle Mile".

MANHASSET, N.Y. -- Safavieh Home Furnishings announces the grand opening of its newest retail location, a 12,500 square foot showroom, set to open on May 15, 2017 on the Miracle Mile in Manhasset, Long Island.

The twelfth Safavieh Home Furnishings store in the tri-state New York area is its smallest, and is a prototype for the future in both format and product assortment, according to Michael Yaraghi, president, Safavieh Home Furnishings. "The Manhasset store reflects our feeling that the future of home furnishings design is going high tech, contemporary and transitional.  We are focusing on this clean contemporary style based on consumer demand -- this is 100-percent what our customers are looking for," Yaraghi explained.

The company's largest store in Stamford, Conn., is 90,000 feet; its flagship in Glen Cove, New York is 56,000 feet. "In the old days you needed a lot of space to show furniture; now everything is done on the computer, so it is not necessary to show as much on the floor," Yaraghi said. He noted that the new Manhasset location is "more of a design store" with a large design center featuring large TV screens where consumers can see the broad range of offerings from the retailer's vendors. If the concept is successful, he said the company's larger stores will add design galleries as 'stores-within-the-stores', offering the same services and contemporary furnishings as the Manhasset prototype.

Yaraghi said rugs account for 20 percent of the Manhasset store's inventory. "We have rugs on display, and the design center has samples of most of our line. But they can present a much larger selection of Safavieh rugs on the design center's computer screens. The customer sees it, likes it and we drop ship it to them."

The new Safavieh Home Furnishings location in Manhasset, NY, focuses on clean, transitional furniture and accessories.

In addition to its interior design services, Safavieh Home Furnishings has been offering renovation and full construction services since 2015. "Across our locations, customers are taking older homes and renovating them with contemporary interiors, so we do a lot of kitchen and bath renovations. Now we're doing construction in full force. We just completed a full renovation, from construction to decoration, at the Brookville Country Club," Yaraghi said.

The move to the celebrated Miracle Mile is something of a homecoming for Safavieh, which left its first Manhasset location 25 years ago to open its flagship store in nearby Glen Cove, N.Y. "We are very happy to be coming back to Manhasset. After 25 years, we are back on "25" to launch a sensational new store and a fresh new vibe for interior home design," added Yaraghi, referencing the new location on Rt. 25A (1649 Northern Blvd).

Visitors to Safavieh' s new Manhasset store will immediately notice the new look -- from the two-story glass staircase and cool grey color scheme, to the newest trends in transitional furniture and accessories. "For years we've been asked by customers in and around the Manhasset area to come back to the Miracle Mile. Now we are coming back and using the opportunity to feature clean-lined, transitional rugs and furniture designed especially for today's decorating preferences," said Yaraghi.

Safavieh Manhasset will carry the company's renowned area rugs, couture furniture, lighting and accessories as well as select collections from Christopher Guy, Baker, Hickory Chair, Vanguard, Chaddock, Lee, Councill, Selva, Century, Lorts and more. Safavieh will also offer interior designers its new Phantom collection of Art Deco inspired furniture by designer Lorenzo Bellini. For the do it yourself decorator in need of expert advice, Safavieh Manhasset will offer free interior design services from its expert staff of designers.

The two-level Safavieh Home Furnishings store in Manhasset, NY, will offer Safavieh and Safavieh Couture rugs and furniture, as well as high end furniture from a variety of top names.
