American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation Calls for Nominations Through February 1
12/20/2024
HIGH POINT, N.C. — Nominations for the Class of 2024 for induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame, the industry’s most prestigious award, are now open. All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to nominate and to second a nomination.
“If you have ever thought a colleague should be inducted into the Hall of Fame, this is your opportunity to nominate them,” says Steve Rusing, president of the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. “As a member of the Foundation, this is your privilege to bring a worthy individual to the attention of the Selection Committee who exemplify creativity, innovation, philanthropy, and the ability to initiate change. Think of people you know have made contributions that have changed the industry.”
Nomination forms can be found online at
www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com
.
During an intensive five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee carefully considers an extensive list of individuals to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity, and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources. The final selection is determined by a points-based system, with ballots cast individually and online by each of the seven selection committee members.
To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, and should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and directionally trend to 60 years old. For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.
Members may submit nominations by Feb. 1. Nomination forms and lists of current members, previous nominees and inductees are available on the Foundation website at
www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com
. Members may also obtain printed copies of the documents by calling 336.882.5900.
To submit a nomination, a re-nomination or a posthumous nomination, Foundation members are required to complete the Nomination Form found on the
website
. A print or a 300 dpi digital photo of the candidate must be enclosed. All nominations must be seconded, in writing, by another Foundation member.
The completed nomination package must be received by Feb. 1, 2025. It may be emailed to
Lestep@homefurnishingshalloffame.com
or mailed to Lauren Estep, American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., 311 S. Hamilton St., High Point, NC 27260.
