THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Major furniture retailer Badcock Home Furniture & More will be shuttering all 380 of its stores across the southern United States. The move comes after the 120-year-old chain's parent company, Conn's Inc., filed for bankruptcy last week.

Conn’s Inc. (Nasdaq: CONN) acquired Badcock in December 2023 and cited rising costs and declining sales in when it filed for bankruptcy with approximately $2 billion in debt late last month in Texas.

Badcock & More operates multiple locations throughout Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia, employing approximately 3,800 full-time staff and 150 part-time workers.
