Las Vegas -- Capel Rugs will be open for business in its World Market Center's Building A, Space A-133 showroom of the Las Vegas Design Center for the Aug. 30-Sept. 3, 2020 Las Vegas Market.
Cameron Capel, president sales and marketing for Capel Rugs, will attend the market and is looking forward to meeting with customers during the event.
"It's been a long time since we've been able to get together," said Capel. "We can't wait to see our colleagues and catch up with them in person."
To ensure employee and customer safety, Capel Rugs is following all guidelines issued by the International Market Centers, the Las Vegas Market's operator, regarding showroom protocols. Capel Rugs' staff and customers will be required to wear masks and socially distance while in the showroom, and hand sanitizer will be readily available. In lieu of the usual gourmet lunch offered to buyers and designers, the company will be providing individually wrapped snacks.
Capel Rugs encourages retailers and designers to make appointments for their showroom visits if possible, but walk-ins also will be welcome.
Six new rug collections will be introduced by Capel Rugs at the event. Among the new models making their debut is Sheridan, a collection of three upscale leather rugs with creative geometric motifs and lively, gold-splatter embellishments.
In addition, Capel Rugs is expanding its popular Charise collection of hand knotted casual/transitional rugs sourced from India with two new traditional-leaning designs. The collection of 100% wool, space-dyed rugs now features 10 patterns and colorways. A 5' x 8' rug may retail for under $1,199.

Other introductions on tap for Capel Rugs' Las Vegas showing include the Cliffside collection of reversible rugs which are machine woven in Moldova,, This new collection features transitional styling in five patterns: Palm, Braid, Striation and Kilim. Made of 100% olefin with a ¼-inch pile, this reversible collection is suitable for use indoors or outdoors.
The Laramie collection from Capel is flat woven in India from strips and squares of quality cowhide leather. The casual, rustic-leaning collection features two new geometric patterns with unique dimensional and textural effects: Brick, in a stone colorway; and Polygon, in a mushroom colorway.
An updated take on the company's iconic Old Homestead rug, New Homestead was inspired by the first chenille braided rug Capel Rugs ever created in 1926. New Homestead features an assortment of today's hottest colors and an updated construction that mixes polyester, polypropylene and cotton.

A traditional design machine made in Moldova of easy-care olefin in a half-inch pile, Capel's Jules collection features four patterns: Gabbeh, in a multi colorways; Keshan, in an ivory multi colorway; Sarouk, also in ivory multi; and Ushak, in an ivory stone colorway.
"We're doing everything we can to support our retailers and designers during this very challenging period," Capel said. "Large, ecommerce-focused accounts continue to do well, but brick-and-mortar sales levels vary greatly from market to market. The good news is that when shoppers come into a store, they are ready to buy. And with our exciting new introductions, we're giving them another good reason to visit their local retailers."
