DALLAS -- Feizy is hosting a special event and panel discussion alongside the recently launched Designers For Dogs organization during the upcoming fall edition of Dallas Design Week. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. in the Feizy showroom, Suite 102. Before the panel, visitors can enjoy the famous step & repeat photo shoot with Operation Kindness pups and learn more about Designers for Dogs' mission with adoptable Operation Kindness dogs, followed by a panel discussion and Dallas Market Center tour of dog-friendly products.

The panel discussion, Dogs & Design: You really can have both!, begins at 3 p.m. in the Dallas Market Atrium (WTC 1) and shares tips and tricks from designers for dog-friendly living and why dogs are such an important part of the home. Michael Bauer, director of trade relations at Feizy Rugs, will moderate this informative panel of dog lovers and experts; Ed Jamison, CEO of Operation Kindness, Art Ortiz, Owner & Trainer at DogFit Dallas, Rachel Winston, Interior Designer and Founder of Designers for Dogs, and Valerie Feizy of Feizy for Texas.

“As an interior designer, I am in three or four client homes per week and almost all of them have dogs," said founder Rachel Winston of the foundation, which is a 501c3 launched in April 2024, with Feizy as a founding sponsor. "People invest a lot of money in their homes and aren’t always educated on the best products to suit their taste and their dog-friendly home. Designers for Dogs is important because it’s changing the narrative. Yes, you can adopt a dog or foster and have a nice home. It’s all about choosing the right products and having the right resources. Dogs and the home go hand in hand. It made perfect sense to utilize the interiors community to be a voice for change in alleviating pet homelessness.”

Bauer, and who serves on the Designers for Dogs board, added, “I have had several rescue dogs, and they make wonderful pets! They often come with unique personalities or have been abused and are incredibly grateful for a second chance at a loving, forever home. Giving a dog a chance at a better life enriches my life!”

The Designers For Dogs board includes: Rachel Winston (Principal/Rachel Winston Design & Founder and President of Designers For Dogs), Ruth Ann Janson (President/The Dove Agency), Carla Armfield (Retail & Trade Executive), Michael Bauer (Director of Trade Relations, Feizy Rugs), and Ed Jamison (CEO, Operation Kindness).
