COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- HOM Furniture is temporarily closing all of its retail locations in all markets effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the close of business.
"During these last few weeks we've been learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how to protect our employees, families and customers said Rodney Johansen, President and CEO HOM Furniture. "We felt it was our responsibility to our communities as a large non-essential employer in the Minneapolis market as well as our other markets to set the tone during this situation."
"After much thought and discussion about what is best for our employees company wide, HOM Furniture Corporate made the difficult decision to close all retail showrooms in five states including HOM Furniture's sister stores Gabberts Fine Design & Furnishings and DOCK86.
"We know many customers have scheduled deliveries and installations. As we value the health of our customers and employees we ask that customers inform us if anyone in their home is feeling ill, so we can either arrange to do a no-charge garage drop delivery at your scheduled time or re-schedule your delivery to a more appropriate day.
"At this time HOM Furniture plans to re-open on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Other departments in our corporate office along with our warehouse operations and delivery teams will keep working to deliver furniture to our customers this week and next week using recommended precautions as outlined by the CDC."
During this time, customers are able to shop and buy home furnishings on our website 24/7 at www.homfurniture.com and www.dock86.com for purchases that can be made in the safety of their homes with FREE Garage Drop shipping on most purchases.
"We are hopeful that this pause in retail operations not only provides added safety to our employees, but to the community and allows us time to continue to learn and understand how to proceed in the coming weeks and months," Johansen said.
