Science and Design are aligning, and it’s changing the future of design and adding value to what designers bring to their clients. Digging into this innovative perspective, learn about how design has the power to improve physical and mental health, and why interior designers, YOU, are looked upon as "alternative health resources."

Designing Wellbeing welcomes a roster of experts who are embracing Science and Design. Among the speakers is biophilic design authority, Bill Browning, AD100 interior designer Caleb Anderson, immersive artist and researcher Lyn Godley, and Science in Design Founder Mike Peterson. The event features panels with designers and manufacturers who will reveal how they embrace science and design.

Designing Wellbeing takes place on Friday, April 25 at the Suites at Market Square from 9:00-5, followed by a reception at Phillips Collection. Lunch is sponsored by Sherwin Williams. On Saturday, April 26, we are touring showrooms who are designing wellbeing.

THAT COSTS WHAT!? WHY?? UNDERSTANDING AND COMMUNICATING THE VALUE OF HOME FURNISHINGS
Suites at Market Square, ANDMORE Seminar Room, SAMS-T-1022

You’re presenting three pieces of furniture to your client. They might be sofas, dining tables, or chandeliers. Piece B costs twice as much as A, and C is twice as much as B. Looking at them, you can see some differences, but is piece C really worth 4 times as much as A? The answer is not obvious; it’s often buried deep within the things you cannot see. In this panel discussion, leaders of three major furniture brands that build to three different value propositions and sell at three different price levels join two professional furniture designers and a residential interior designer to fill you in on how to uncover the value of a piece of furniture–and then communicate that value to your client.
