TROPICAL SOPHISTICATES

New Tommy Bahama takes the tropical look way beyond mundane palm trees. From Shaw, it;s machine woven of stain resistant nylon, but

ASSYMETRICAL

Feizy  captures several hot new looks in this design. The pattern is referenced by Art Deco shapes, but the asymmetrical placement infuses it with energy and movement. Shades of pink and blue are on the cutting edge of cool. Part of the Piazza collection. Hand tufted, $390 in 5x8.

CLEANED UP TRADITIONAL

Couristan's Taj Mahal collection features classic 16th and 17th century Persian designs, but there's nothing old fashioned about the clean delineated field and the updated red palette. It's a dead ringer for hand knot construction, right down to the crew-cut fringe. Machine made in Belgium of semi-worsted New Zealand wool,
 $700 in 5'6"x8'.

URBAN ZEN

Hand tufted of  New Zealand Merino wool in a palette of slate and marble tones, this rug has a Zen-like calm and simplicity. Capel says the

SHIMMER

Abbyson's new collections have a shimmering elegance that comes from the use of Himalayan sheep wool and natural vegetable dyes. The West Coast importer of Tibetan rugs showed at High Point for the first time this Spring.
