JCPenney Tops The List Again in USA Today’s 2024 Readers' Choice Poll

For the 2nd year in a row, JCPenney was awarded the No. 1 spot in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for Best Department Store.

PLANO, Texas -- For the second year in a row, JCPenney was awarded the No. 1 spot in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for Best Department Store. Earning the most votes of readers across the U.S., the result is a testament to a growing wave of consumers who are rediscovering JCPenney, as well as the company’s enduring commitment and appeal to long-time JCPenney loyalists. Customers of all ages, sizes and styles are turning to JCPenney as their destination of choice for fashion, gifts, beauty and everything for the home – all at exceptional deals that rival, if not surpass off-price retailers.

“This award reaffirms our confidence in our reinvestment progress – everything we have worked toward is coming together and we’re proud consumers are taking notice,” said Chief Executive Officer Marc Rosen.

Nominees for this category were chosen by a panel of editors from USA TODAY 10 Best, and voting was open to the public for four weeks. Just within the past month, JCPenney was also recognized by WalletHub as the number one place to shop for the best Black Friday deals. The study, which surveyed over 4,300 deals from 13 U.S. retailers, found that JCPenney offered the best discounts across categories including apparel & accessories, consumer electronics, toys, home appliances and more. This is the third year in a row that JCPenney has earned the top spot on WalletHub’s report, and the sixth time since 2014.
