Kalaty Celebrates 45th Anniversary with Dozens of New Rug Designs and a Special Edition Catalog

To mark its 45th anniversary, Kalaty introduces a range of high-end handcrafted rug designs, including three new heirloom quality hand-knotted collections, and publishes a special-edition catalog.

LAS VEGAS -- Kalaty Rug Corp. celebrates its 45th anniversary at the winter edition of Las Vegas Market and launches a range of high-end handcrafted rug designs, including three new heirloom quality hand-knotted collections. These latest pieces will be on display at Kalaty’s World Market Center B-455 showroom.

In honor of this momentous milestone, Kalaty has just introduced a brand-new beautifully designed full-color 45th anniversary-edition catalog featuring 460 pages of Kalaty’s extensive collections of hand-knotted, power-loomed and hand-loomed area rugs in a wide range of styles, weaves, colors, textures and sizes across all décor genres.

“We are excited to be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the founding of our company at this winter’s Las Vegas Market, and we will be toasting this impressive milestone each evening during the show along with our market guests,” says Ramin Kalaty, company president. “Mirza Kalaty, our father and founder, established Kalaty Rug Corp. in the US in 1979. Today, we remain a family-owned company with a proud heritage of producing sophisticated high-end heirloom-quality area rugs, and we continue to produce our rugs using many of his innovative design, coloring and finishing techniques.”


To celebrate 45 years in the rug business, Kalaty published a special full-color 460 page catalog showcasing its extensive collections.

In addition to showing off their new catalog, Kalaty is bringing a wealth of new product to the company’s WMC, B-455 showroom. Market visitors will be able to view three fashion-forward hand-knotted collections: Celine, a 100 percent premium hand-spun wool collection of updated-traditional designs; Forte, a chic modern-meets-traditional wool-Silkette collection; and Kosta, an elegant eclectic group in a wool-Silkette blend.

What's more, some of Kalaty's best-selling high-end collections add fresh designs which will also be on display. New designs are added to the zero-pile 100 percent premium hand-spun wool Lyra collection of classic hand-knotted floral motifs; the hand-knotted Amalfi collection of updated-Oushak looks in modern colors; and the licensed Natori Lhasa collection by world-renowned fashion designer Josie Natori.

Kalaty also adds more tribal and southwestern styles, growing its popular boldly colored flatweave Soumak Chroma collection and the Mojave collection's ruggedly handsome tribal and southwestern designs. New geometric and abstract patterns are added to the high-end power-loomed Celeste collection. The contemporary high-low textural Elara collection also is grown for winter shoppers and more modern abstract patterns are added to the Tibetan-weave Orion collection. Additional line extensions are also debuting in the charming Oushak-inspired, softly colored Magnolia collection; the vintage-inspired classic patterns of the Khotan collection; and the energetic contemporary abstract Juno collection.

There are more new-and-exciting Kalaty area rugs ready to be discovered at Las Vegas, and, as always, the aforementioned new high-end area rugs are in-stock and ready to ship.

Soumak Chroma Collection
Bold colorways in a variety of tribal and Southwestern patterns have been added to this double-sided flatweave collection. Hand knotted in a Soumak weave using 100 percent premium wool yarns on a cotton foundation, these versatile reversible rugs feature a distinctive herringbone texture that is characteristic of the classic Soumak weave.

Oushak Collection
Hand knotted in a Turkish-style weave, using 100 percent premium hand-spun wool, these perennially popular rugs add new styles for winter market-goers.
