Kalaty Showcases Latest High-End Area Rugs at the Fall 2022 High Point Market

Kalaty will showcase new high-end rug collections, line extensions of best-selling collections, as well as additions to the company’s popular-priced K-TWO series of open-distribution collections at the fall HPMKT.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Kalaty Rug Corp. brings one of the company’s largest and most impressive new product presentations to their High Point showroom (IHFC, G-369) for Fall 2022. High Point market customers will discover an array of stylish area rugs including high-end hand-knotted designs in sophisticated colors and styles, recent additions to best-selling high-end collections as well as additions to the company’s popular-priced K-TWO series of open-distribution collections.

The New York-based rug atelier is showcasing its attention to detail throughout its newest products with its noteworthy use of color, texture and high-fashion looks ranging from fresh high-energy graphic designs and contemporary abstracts to updated-traditional designs in fashion-chic color palettes, as well as handsome transitional designs in stylish tone-on-tone neutrals and naturals. Also on display is an intriguing selection of one-of-a-kind hand-knotted styles as well as a number of surprises that will give customers glimpses into products coming at future markets.

Among the latest Kalaty high-end collections for fall 2022 High Point: the new Oushak-influenced Amalfi collection with stylishly fresh colorways and zero-pile; the multi-textural eclectic styling of the Kamaria collection; the 11 additions to the distinctive abstract and contemporary geometric designs of the Celeste collection; the abstract modern expressions of the Tibetan-weave Orion collection; and the Oushak-inspired reversible flatweave designs of the Soumak Chroma collection with palettes of upbeat designer-friendly colors. These new collections and introductions are in stock and ready to ship.

Also new to High Point from Kalaty – the Mansions collection. This lineup, created to accommodate the many requests Kalaty receives for oversized rugs, is made up of 37 best-selling designs in an array of colors and style genres from existing high-end hand-knotted Kalaty collections. Mansion sizes include 13x18, 14x20, 15x22 and 16x24.

Kandra Collection


Kalaty rolls out Kandra, which offers erased-style Oushak motifs, hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave.  Shown, KD-1142

• Modern meets vintage in Kandra, a collection that fuses Oushak designs with erased effects and abstract flashes of chic colors. These fine rugs are meticulously hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave using a combination of premium wool and Silkette yarns in appealing colorways.

Amalfi Collection

• Influenced by classic Oushak designs and other timeless motifs, this high-end collection offers harmonious combinations of pattern and carefully curated fashion-forward color palettes. Meticulously hand-knotted using 100% premium hand-spun wool, each of these rugs features a zero pile for vintage look.

Soumak Chroma Collection


The new Soumak Chroma offers a double-sided flatweave hand-knotted in a Soumak weave of premium wool.

• Featuring double-sided flatweave Oushak-inspired Soumak designs, Soumak Chroma is hand-knotted in a Soumak weave using 100% premium wool yarns on a cotton foundation. Each of these versatile reversible rugs features a unique herringbone texture -- a characteristic of the classic Soumak weave.

Lyra Collection

• A collection of high-end classic traditional florals and other desirable motifs, Lyra is hand-knotted using premium hand-spun wool yarns and featuring zero pile. Available in an assortment of today’s favorite designer colors.


Kamaria Collection

• Kamaria rugs offer high-end updated classic and contemporary motifs in stylish color palettes and high-low weaves. Power-loomed using a luxurious combination of Silkette and polyester yarns, this fine machine-made collection displays a knots-per-square-inch equivalent (930 KPSI) that would be nearly impossible to achieve in hand-knotted styles.

Andana Collection

• Andana collection offers pops of colors to update motifs and patterns found in classic Oushak rugs. This heirloom-worthy collection is hand-knotted using a combination of premium hand-spun wool and Silkette yarns.

Celeste Collection

• Celeste collection includes abstract patterns in modern fashion colors. These rugs are power-loomed in a multi-textural high-low weave using a combination of Silkette and acrylic yarns. This collection displays a knots-per-square-inch equal to many high-end hand-knotted styles (620 KPSIE).

Elara Collection

• Elara collection offers borderless modern looks with erased effects and high-low carving in tonal colorations. Hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave using a combination of premium wool and Silkette with a loop-and-pile weave, rugs are hand-carved for a three-dimensional look and feel.

Harlow Collection


One of Kalaty's best-selling collections, Harlow, a range of modern abstract patterns, rolls out new designs for fall.

• Harlow collection is hand-knotted using a combination of premium hand-spun wool and Silkette in a fine Turkish knot weave. Each of these modern abstract rugs has the unique look and feel of artisanal contemporary work.

Kingsley Collection

• Updated-traditional and abstract designs in modern fashion colors are power-loomed in a multi-textural high-low weave. Kingsley collection is made of Silkette and acrylic yarns. Bound by hand and finished by hand, this collection displaying a knots-per-square-inch equivalent of 620 KPSI.

Oushak Collection

• Hand-knotted in a Turkish-style weave, Oushak collection is crafted of 100% premium hand-spun wool. A perennially favorite rug these classic rugs includes traditional colorways as well as updated-modern tones more in keeping with today’s tastes and lifestyles.

Zafra Collection


The hand-knotted Zafra collection sees a line extension with new abstract patterns crafted using a special dyeing

• Zafra collection rugs are hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave using premium hand-spun wool and Silkette. Featuring modern abstract designs with the unique look of fine Indian sari silk, Zafra rugs use a special dyeing technique to impart an effect that is usually only found in sari silks.

ADDITIONS TO THE LICENSED N NATORI SERENGETI COLLECTION

N Natori Serengeti Collection

• Designed by fashion designer Josie Natori, these new power-loomed additions feature mostly animal-inspired prints that tie back to the designer’s renowned clothing line from the World of Natori. Colors found in the new rugs – as well as the rugs in the initial Serengeti collection – provide expression without overpowering. Machine-made using easy-care polyester yarns, the knots-per-square-inch are KPSI- 260.

K-TWO SERIES NEWS

Kalaty’s K-TWO series of popular-priced open-distribution rug collections reaches 29 total collections with the addition of Pelle, Petra, Lumina and Omnia -- all making their High Point debut this fall. Styles within this series range from relaxed transitional designs to high-energy contemporary abstracts and geometrics to updated-traditional patterns, while weaves within the series include hand-knotted, hand-tufted, hand-loomed and power-loomed.

Pelle Collection


Kalaty adds its first hair-on-hide rugs with Pelle, which includes shaped geometric styles. Shown, PE-1200
 
• Pelle includes 100 percent hair-on cowhide patchwork rugs with a number of modern geometric patterns in black, white, ivory, stylish neutrals and warm brown tones. Each rug design is composed of leather pieces that are individually cut, stitched together and then hand-bound and backed.

Petra Collection
 
• Petra is comprised of tribal influenced patterns as well as designs with a more modern idiom in palettes of natural and earth tones. Power-loomed of long-wearing, easy-to-care for polypropylene yarns.

Lumina Collection

• Lumina rugs are power-loomed using a combination of polypropylene and polyester yarns offering simple modern designs and updated-traditional patterns at an attainable price point.

Orion Collection


Offering abstract artistic designs, Orian by Kalaty adds fresh styles, hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave. Shown, ON-11640
 
• Chic on-trend modern designs and colors comprise the Orian collection of contemporary abstract artistic expressions. Each of these rugs is hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave using a combination of premium wool and Silkette yarns and then finished with intricate hand-carving for special high-low textural interest.


Kalaty showroom locations include High Point (IHFC, G-369) and Las Vegas (World Market Center, B-455).
