The Winter edition of Las Vegas Market ups the ante in fashion, coloration and innovation.

LAS VEGAS -- Retail buyers and designers will see most of their favorite area rug vendors for the first time at Las Vegas Market, and new products kicking off 2023 will not disappoint. Fashion trends are incorporated into a plethora of new collections and line extensions, and they include a mélange of on-point colors, designs, and performance innovations.

Look for plenty of updated traditional designs, bold abstract patterns, refined transitionals, and the latest advances in indoor-outdoor rugs (now beautifully woven so that many are indistinguishable from indoor natural fiber qualities).

CAPEL RUGS

Capel Rugs is showcasing a variety of transitional and traditional designs making their debut at the Las Vegas Market. They include the new Zenith collection, which is off to a strong start at retail, and five new patterns added to the highly popular Avanti collection. Zenith includes four patterns: Heriz, Lava, Lineal and Sarouk, all in transitional and traditional styling in six colorways. Azari, a nine-rug collection that is hand-tufted in India with 100 percent wool, features two designs, Isfahan and Keshan, inspired by vintage Persian designs. Colorways include celedon, gray, dark sapphire, copper, evergeen, pewter, ink, oxford tan and terracotta.

Capel Rugs is also adding five new patterns to its popular Avanti collection of hand-tufted, all-wool designs, including Charlotte, in a cloud colorway; Fiesta, in gray multi; Mahal, in teal and silver; Serapi, in misty blue and ink; and Kazak, in ocean. Also shown in Vegas for the first time is Bosphorus, made in the U.S. on Wilton power looms. This range rugs use space-dyed polyester, and is offered in three patterns and nine colorways

Couristan is introducing a broad assortment of area rugs from indoor-outdoor performance rugs to high-quality machine-made rugs at the January Las Vegas Market. Among the featured collections is the new Everhome assortment of indoor-outdoor rugs. These rugs are crafted of 100 percent Courtron polypropylene and offer geometric, tropical and transitional designs in a structured flatwoven construction. The company also grows two popular collections, the two-million point Siena assortment and Old World Classics, the later of which features Couristan's exclusive locked-in-weave and crystal-point finish, giving each detail superior definition. And it debuts the Sonnet collection, which offers marble and abstract designs in a soft luxe finish in a one million points construction.

Dynamic Rugs focuses its 13 debuting collections on the latest trends it has forecasted and introduces several new machine-made rugs across constructions and price points -- including its first machine-washable designs; plus adds a new hand-tufted collection. The Elise and Rhythm collections of machine-washable rugs are made of a cotton and polyester blend with an MSRP of $279 in 5'3" x 7. Another must-see debut is the high-end machine-made Octo collection. Octo rugs are crafted of polyester and shrunk polyester ($679.99 MSRP in 5'3" x 7'7"). Hudson collection features subtle traditional motifs in a high-low construction, while Masai, made in Belgium, offers a dense, cloud-like plushness, simplified motifs and neutral color ways.

In addition, the company rolls out several collections (Carlisle and Deja) that feature "shiny" designs achieved by using a lustrous polyester in the construction.

Feizy celebrates its Golden anniversary at the upcoming Las Vegas Market with a 50th anniversary party on Sunday and plenty of new rugs (read more). The company will also have plenty of newness for attendees to browse while raising a toast. Among the featured debuts will be fresh designs that address the four key trends Feizy has identified for  2023. Among the highlights is the hand-knotted Ralston collection, which offers classic Heriz and Serapi patterns in fashion-forward palettes of rich colors like rust, blue and ivory. Ralson, hand-knotted of wool, is one of the collections from Feizy's Keeping with Tradition trend. Another interior direction, Classic Contrasts, offers an iconic pairing of black and white motifs, and Coda, hand-loomed of wool and viscose, fits within that trend.

HRI debuts its latest hand-knotted area rugs for Vegas winter market-goers with a focus on updated traditional designs and contemporary looks. Among the highlights are the company's hand-knotted vintage-styled Antiquity collection, crafted of 100 percent Bekinar wool with a zero pile, and Artifact, also hand-knotted of wool. For shoppers looking for fresh contemporary designs HRI introduces the modern mid-century inspired Dream collection, hand-knotted of wool, and the updated animal print motifs of Wildlife, hand-knotted of wool with viscose highlights.

Kalaty will showcase its latest area rugs, from high-end hand-knotted pieces to its first hair-on-hide designs and its latest high-end machine-made rugs at Las Vegas Market (read full story). Among the featured collections are the newest line extensions to its top selling Orion collection. The latest looks, hand-knotted in a Tibetan-weave of wool and Silkette, offer painterly motifs. In addition, Kalaty builds on its success with Oushak-inspired hand-knotted rugs adding Kandra, also in a Tibetan weave, which features Oushak patterns and an abstracted erased effect. The company will also highlight its high-end machine-made collection Kamaria, crafted of Silkette and polyester yarn, and its new hair-on-hide Pelle lineup.

Kaleen heads to Vegas to showcase its high-end LUXE label, which adds new designs and also debuts a new broadloom brand, Home & Porch, which is an indoor-outdoor assortment (read full story). LUXE adds Jara, a lineup of hand-woven wool shag rugs in a variety of all-over linear and diamond patterns, and Pamir, a one-of-a-kind collection of textural rugs hand-knotted of 100 percent wool by artisan weavers. The new LUXE pieces area available in standard sizes (8x10, 9x12, and 10x14x plus an 18”x18” designer sample) and custom sizes within the parameters of 15 feet wide and 50 feet long; and broadloom applications. The company's Hererra collection will be spotlighted and these hand-knotted rugs, crafted from 100 percent imported wool, offer muted neutral color palettes and distressed detailing.

Karastan features two classic-styled area rug collections, Bedouin and Pandora, for Vegas shoppers. It is also showcasing the latest designs from lifestyle designer Stacy Garcia, which adds to its popular Rendition lineup. The Bedouin collection offers distressed color patterns which overlay an ornate all-over design. Mixing space-dyed yarns, abrash effect and a luxurious pile, these rugs are crafted from EverStrand yarn created from up to 100 percent post-consumer content derived from recycled plastic bottles. A premium polyester, EverStrand offers a thick, sumptuous softness, inherent stain resistance and vivid color clarity. Pandora, a range inspired by classic Persian designs, offers a space-dyed effect for a distinctive vintage look and is crafted from Karastan’s exclusive triexta SmartStrand Silk yarn (which offers a built-in lifetime stain resistance and the softness of silk). Finally, Stacy Garcia Home's popular Rendition collection adds fresh expressive styles made from quality yarns for a lineup that is ideal for high-traffic areas.

Loloi brings plenty of newness to Las Vegas Market, including new collections by designer Amber Lewis. In addition, the company introduces the hand-knotted Daphne collection of area rugs with an incredible depth of color. Up close, each rug’s color is made up of multiple tones that create abstract linear patterns and organic asymmetry. Made in India of 100 percent wool, Daphne is also GoodWeave certified, ensuring ethical production and the support of weavers' communities. Dominic, also GoodWeave certified, is hand-knotted and features loose, freeform motifs that give the rugs a sense of depth. Dominic’s shade-shifting palette is based on the horizontal lines of varying tones encountered in antique Persian rugs.

Nourison expands its best-selling Prismatic series and adds fresh abstract motifs in muted earthy tones. Shown, PRS35

Nourison introduces three new area rug collections and grows its best-selling prismatic collection -- it's also expanding its Inspire Me! Home Decor rug program and hosting an event with founder Farah Merhi (read full story). Among the debuting collections: Abstract Hues, a line of space-dyed rugs with variations in color a subtly ribbed pile, and Elegant Heirlooms, a range of classic Persian patterns in soft colors with fringe edges and a silky sheen. Also on show will be the elegant, simple Natural Jute collection, with a flatwoven pile in warm natural tones. Fans of the Prismatic series will be thrilled to find several new additions including a bold abstracted floral inspired motif with black ground, as well as softer, earthier sand colorations as a counterpoint.

Oriental Weavers is rolling out three brand new collections, including one made domestically, and adding to some of its top-selling existing collections for shoppers heading to Las Vegas Market (read full story). The newest collections include everything from multi-level updated traditional motifs (Ellington) to flatwoven tonal designs for high-traffic areas (Gillian) and high-density abstract looks (Hayden). In addition, Oriental Weavers is also growing its successful Aberdeen and Maharaja collections with fresh traditional looks. Both Aberdeen and Maharaja offer the same million point construction, however in different color creels. Both are woven of incredibly soft, space-dyed polyester in a high-density, low profile construction with minimal self-fringe.

Safavieh will showcase its latest roundup of fashion rugs alongside its new home furniture and accents. Included in the mix will be Eternal collection, a decorative assortment of area rug with raised motifs and engaging colors. Eternal rugs are power-loomed using a blend of soft cotton and synthetic yarns in a texture-rich pile for comfort underfoot. Also on display will be the Lotus collection, which offers warm earthy hues and a texture-rich loop pile. Lotus is power-loomed using soft synthetic yarns and comes in a variety of finishes, including solid tones and high-low designs with modest fringed ends.

Las Vegas Market shoppers will find design and color innovation in Trans-Ocean’s Las Vegas Market introductions. Designed by Liora Manne, the company’s new collection releases, as well as line extensions, cover a broad spectrum of buyers’ needs from indoor-outdoor area rugs to gift, themed and holiday accent rugs. The in-out Capri collection gets two new designs, Marker Stripe and On Holiday, both flatwoven and hand-tufted in a polyester/acrylic blend. The vibrant weather-resistant designs feature intricately shaded yarns and are treated for additional fade resistance.

New to the popular indoor-outdoor Marina collection are Mums, a decorative botanical design, and Sunflower, featuring a black background with bright decorative gold oversized blooms. Made in Egypt from 75 percent polypropylene/25 percent polyester, the flatwoven, low-profile Marina Collection is power loomed to create intricate designs with a broad color spectrum and a high-quality finish.

The Sahara collection, power-loomed in Turkey of 91 percent polypropylene/9 percent polyester, offers subtle organic patterns created by a dense textured weave. The new Diamond Border design debuts in five colorways that are ideal for indoor and outdoor use.
