NOW Carpets Debuts First Rugs Designed by Architect Rafael Alvarez

Spain-based NOW Carpets, known for its architect and designer collaborations, introduces a hand-knotted rug assortment by architect Rafael Alvarez.

NEW YORK -- Luxury European rug and carpet studio NOW Carpets rolls out a new hand-knotted rug collection by New York-based architect Rafael Alvarez, who co-founded Alvarez-Brock Design and runs his own studio, Bureau of Rafael Alvarez Inc.

The new area rug collection designed by Alvarez for NOW Carpets, called the Sea and the Sand, includes three design hand-knotted of 100 percent New Zealand Wool.

Architect Rafael Alvarez introduces his first area rug collection with European studio NOW Carpets.

Originally from the Dominican Republic. Alvarez spent more than a decade as design director at Tihany Design and three decades designing restaurants and hotels around the world. His design portfolio also includes furnitures, uniforms, lightings, carpets ties, scarf decorative hardware and tableware.

Based in Zaragoza, Spain, and with offices in New York City, NOW Carpets is known for its luxe area rugs and carpets created in collaboration with top designers and architects, including Arik Levy, Francesc Rifé, and Anna Muravina.
