Rug Buyers Turn Out to Shop High-End Rugs at CCLV

COVER Connect Las Vegas, located within TISE, was buzzing with area rug and carpet dealers shopping the latest hand-crafted cutting-edge designs on tap.

CCLV returns to Vegas for the third time and area rug buyers came by to browse trends and refresh assortments.

LAS VEGAS -- The third edition of COVER Connect Las Vegas returned to its pavilion within the 2025 The International Surface Event (TISE) at Mandalay Bay Convention Center and the aisles of both shows were filled with attendees, many of which were shopping broadloom and stopping in the CCLV pavilion to check out some of the latest luxe area rugs and broadloom available.

The boutique rug trade event was humming on opening day and attendees were the first to review innovative debuts from exhibitors. Among the discernible design trends on show was the growing prominence of reworked classic Persian motifs, which are again becoming a favorite of high-end rug dealers and showrooms. Browns and blues dominated the event but there were also plenty of colorful pieces to choose from.

CELLA CARPET


Cella Carpets returns to Surfaces, only this time, the broadloom specialist joins the COVER Connect lineup for the first time.

Cella Carpet, a long-time participant at TISE decided to joint the CCLV lineup for the first time and "loved" the event. The New Jersey company showcased its newest hand-loomed collections, and also debuted its first sisal assortment and flatweaves, crafted of sisal and wool. The company also rolled out its inaugural fashion forward indoor-outdoor rugs, made of polypropylene.

DESIGN MATERIALS

Oscar Tatosian, Oscar Isberian Rugs, Evanston, Illinois, with Jeff Wessinger, Design Materials, review the newest additions to the company's Artisan collection, with Tatosian reporting that carpet sales are up at his gallery. Artisan rugs are hand-loomed in Belgium with a Wilton loom-like quality. Design Materials was a long-time Surfaces exhibitor that returned to the event after a hiatus via COVER Connect and introduced its new Mexico production sisal carpets.


FRENCH ACCENTS


Traditional designs, including Lattice Garden, are trending at French Accents.

While French Accents' new Nepalese bespoke Dash collection of contemporary geometrics crafted of wool and silk, caught the eye of attendees for its colorful design; it was a the company's Lattice Garden design (shown hanging) from the Worn Classics collection that stole the show. "People are really liking traditional rugs again," said Danny Shafiian, owner, adding that buyers gave a major thumbs up to this reworked traditional Hamadan design. On the stack is Slice.

HARCOURT COLLECTION

KIRKIT RUGS


Turkish rug maker Kirkit showcased the new Cintemani rug.

Kirkit Rugs, known for its minimalist ivory and black rugs crafted of up-cycled hemp and goat hair rugs, showcased several colorful modern designs handmade of the best Anatolian wool. A favorite was the bright red and gold Cintemani rug.

MOMENI

Momeni showcased a one-of-a-kind color-drenched floral motif rug, pictured hanging right, knotted in an Afghan weave of the finest wool. Buyers were also the first to browse 10 new broadloom collections Momeni introduced for Surfaces.

OLKER RUGS

The Nasim brothers head up the U.S. division of their family's Afghan rug business and showcased their contemporary take on contemporary Afghan area rugs. "We got great feedback on everything," said Adnan Nasim, who was pleased with the response the fledgling U.S. brand received. Pictured is n-361, which is hand-knotted of hand-spun wool and finished with an organic wash for added softness and luster.

PAMPAS LEATHER


Pampas Leather showcased its luxurious Windows sheepskin area rug.

Pampas Leather, which produces cowhide and sheepskin from the Argentinian Pampas region, showcased its modern take on sheepskin rugs. with the new Windows, the ground of which has an ombre effect. The company also showcased an unexpected hair-on-hide repeating eye-like motif moving across the field and a modern interlocking arc-styled pattern.

RUG & KILIM

Rug & Kilim featured its latest Swedish Deco Pile and Flatweave area rug from its top-selling Scandinavian collection. These rugs feature the company's "High” texture named for its high-and-low approach to Swedish patterns and including s geometric patterns inspired by Swedish Deco sensibilities of the mid-20th century.

SAMAD

Samad featured a blue and green geometric design (Field) design from its popular Northern Lights collection. Samad also showcased the latest afghan rugs from its collaboration with ABC Italia, which clients give a thumbs up. Samples of the New York atelier's high-low Nordic collection of hand-knotted rugs of undyed wool were on display and included a geometric motifs in black and natural that resonated with show shoppers.


In the fore is Samad's Erik from the Nordic lineup of high-low rugs, hand-knotted of undyed wool.

TAMARIAN

"We are innovating up into higher qualities -- we are not shying away from that and at the same time we are still excited about our quick ship all wool collection, which offers attainable Nepalese production. It’s a hit," Ned Baker said, adding that the a COVER Connect favorite was its wool and silk Reflection rug in new saged bronze colorway, hand-knotted in Nepal, and a colorful geometric, Annie PW in autumn, hand-knotted of 100 percent wool hand-knotted in Nepal. Both designs are programmed, in stock in standard sizes.


Tamarian's Reflection design introduced a saged bronze colorway at CCLV that was an instant hit.

TURQUOISE MOUNTAIN

Turquoise Mountain's Sanjay Purohit and Toby Ash introduced the first rugs in collaboration with jewelry designer Katherine Parr, who has designed jewelry pieces for Turquoise Mountain. The organization also debuted a hand-knotted shimmering blue snakeskin-inspired design made of Iraqi silk, which is a "more durable and appropriate for even the living room," said Pourhit.

WOOL & SILK RUGS

Wool & Silk showcased its re-issued Selian, a leaf design of wool and silk that now includes silk as a raised design element, making the pattern come to life. Another featured area rug is the Japanese-styled floral Dusk pattern which adds a new colorway dubbed dawn. Finally, the company also showcased a colorful ladder display showcasing its solid color silk, silk and wool blend rugs, as well as a new gradient lineup.


Pictured in rear is Wool & Silk's Selian and, on the floor, is a new colorway of its popular Dusk rug.
