Surya Rolls Out Whopping 63 New Rug Collections Across Categories for High Point Market

Surya's High Point showroom will offer buyers a generous selection of new area rugs -- including 63 new collections and 43 additions to existing lines.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Surya's High Point showroom, 
Showplace 4100, will offer buyers an enormous selection of new area rugs -- including 63 new collections and 43 additions to existing lines -- in a range of constructions.

 

In addition, the company will present top color and design trends across a comprehensive selection of new product introductions in lighting, accent furniture, wall decor and textiles. What's more, Surya will also be showcasing a limited selection of hand-knotted one-of-a-kind rugs for designers who are looking to provide clients with original designs of the finest quality.


"Surya is constantly bringing new and fresh designs into our product assortments, as well as launching new programs and services aimed at delighting our customers,"said Satya Tiwari, president of Surya. "Every market I look forward to seeing our customers, both existing and new, to get their feedback and walk them through our entire offering of accessories and services geared towards creating valued, long lasting partnerships."

To enhance the shopping experience, Surya has created several larger displays for rugs, and updated style options for pillows and rugs, including Rustic, Cottage and Seasonal, as well as presenting a refreshed layout geared toward providing an intuitive shopping experience.

"We definitely see that customers gravitate towards our handmade rug constructions during High Point Market including hand-knotted, hand-tufted and hand-woven," said Jeni Canaan, Surya's vice president, merchandising and product development. "And it really is due to the fact that seeing the detail, quality, hand and beauty of these artisan products in person really makes an impact.


"We know that retailers will be expecting to see our trend forward designs and review our wide assortment of styles, price points and in stock options," Canaan continued. "When it comes to new trends we are finding it very refreshing that a mix of style elements are all being fused together for a personal and eclectic expression including pieces that are Bohemian/Global or Modern Farmhouse and Rustic/Industrial."

Surya's showroom will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with early access on Friday, October 18. Here are just a few of the new collections market attendees will see in the Surya showroom. 

COORDINATED COLLECTIONS:



Surya's Coventry coordinates are hand-woven of jute and soft chenille in global and traditional designs including rugs, pillows, floor pillows and poufs.

Among the coordinated collections being released for High Point are Coventry, hand-woven of jute and chenille; the hand-knotted Nobility rug collection, which features a lustrous sheen and high low pile detail; and the newHygge collection of rugs and pillows is grown to include all-new pillows, poufs and even wall hangings. 

In addition, the Apache range adds a coordinating pouf with same raised pattern pile and global style; and poufs have been added to the popular hand-woven Anders collection which features neutral colors and soft textures.


Finally, the hand-tufted Zanafi Tassels coordining rug and wall-hanging collection is loaded with premium detailing, dimension and texture all for a great value.

HAND-KNOTTED RUGS

 


The new hand-knotted Tunus rug collection, shown TUN2304, is crafted of wool and viscose in a palette of cream, ivory, gray, black and dark brown.

 

Among the new hand-knots rolling out are the wool and viscose tribal designs of Tunus; the 100 percent wool Biscayne collection of updated traditional styles featuring center medallions, ornately patterned borders and fringe details; and Bella, an assortment of 100 percent viscose rugs in intricately hand-carved designs. Surya also debuts Meknes, crafted of 100 percent New Zealand wool with exaggerated high low detailing and 4-inch fringe.

The debuting hand-knotted 
Pokhara rug collection pairs lustrous sheen and intricately loomed structure with erased looks. And fans of abstract looks will want to check out the new modern art designs of Arte while buyers on the hunt for sophisticated solids should look for Capri, with its luxurious sheen and warm texture across a selection of cream, blue, navy, gray and white colorways.

The hand-knotted Livorno collection offers designs inspired by the architectural elements of its namesake Italian city. The new hand-knotted
Wilson rug collection features updated traditional designs printed after knotting, with a blend of 50 percent viscose for a lustrous sheen and 50 percent  wool for durability.

HAND-TUFTED RUGS

Among the hefty hand-tufted lines being rolled are: Sorrento, a collection designed to appeal to shoppers looking for a minimalist and luxurious aesthetic. Likewise, theAustin collection is a sophisticated yet practical solid range that blends wool and viscose across seven colorways. The hand-tufted Beck rug collection will appeal to shoppers looking for the modern drama of its asymmetrical designs and bold color palettes. Those seeking abstract looks will want to browse Kavita and its trending color palette.

The densely hand-tufted Montclair rug collection offers a luxurious feel and a balance of pattern and texture.

HAND-WOVEN, HAND-LOOMED RUGS


Surya's hand-loomed Makalu, mkl2302, marries braided wool, viscose texture and lustrous sheen along with hand-carving.

The hand-loomed Makalu rug collection provides earthy simplicity with its braided wool, viscose texture and lustrous sheen along with hand-carved designs.The 100 percent wool, hand-woven Tulum rug collection features a mix of high pile shag and low pile weaving with fringe detail across a color palette of cream, gray and brown.

 

The hand-woven Arielle collection blends jute, wool and polyester to give an earthen feel with a soft geometric global bohemian pattern; Azalea is a performance collection that is made of 100 percent PET yarn with a highly dense hand-woven construction; the 100 percent wool, hand-woven Apache range offers multi-scale Moroccan designs created from the variation of pile height with 6-inch braided tassel detail; and Handira, also hand-woven, features a wool and cotton blend and high-low pile with bohemian designs in color palettes of black, navy, white and cream.

The Zainab rug collection is hand-woven then printed with updated traditional and modern designs of varying shades of blue paired with cream touches. The 100 percent wool, hand-woven Mardin rug collection features a classic stripe pattern juxtaposed across a causal color palette.
