Area rug exhibitors at the upcoming Las Vegas summer market showcase trending looks and styles.
LAS VEGAS -- While rug exhibitors expect typical summer traffic at the upcoming Las Vegas Market, running July 30-Aug. 2, they aren't skipping a beat when it comes to introducing scores of fresh area rug designs.
Though colors are trending toward neutrals such as ivory, cream and beige, some new designs offer a counterpoint with rich warm colorations, including pumpkin or rust, and others feature pops of color, both vibrant hues and pastels. Still, plenty of soothing coastal blues and grays will continue to make an appearance.
Style directions, which emerged over the past several seasons continue their momentum and include sought-after looks such as fluid organic geometric designs, ultra-textural abstracts, updated classic Persian motifs, and graphic white and black motifs. Geometric patterns continue to evolve adding faceted designs and Art Deco-inspired looks as well.
Area rug buyers can also expect to see weave and fiber innovations push the envelope as rug makers toy with blending and pairing unexpected fibers for novel applications. In addition, texture is virtually omnipresent as rug manufacturers seek fresh ways to finesse their latest products.
RugNews.com, in the industry's most comprehensive area rug guide to Las Vegas Market, reviews that latest area rug introductions -- from meticulously hand-knotted to affordable impulse purchase to mid-range tufted -- on show at 20 rug showrooms.
