From classic Persian to avant-garde contemporary, debuts at The Rug Show 2024 represent the newest looks and finest quality from international brands.
SECAUCUS, N.J. -- The Rug Show kicks off the fall selling season with 2024’s first global exhibition of fine carpets, running Sept. 7-9 at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, with special discounted hotel rates offered upon registration.
This year’s event marks the 14th anniversary of the east coast edition of the show, which has come to be known for exclusive high end area rugs in designs ranging from antique and classic to contemporary and one of a kind works of art.
“The Rug Show is a unique opportunity in North America for us to showcase our artisans’ work to an international audience,” explains Alison Grey, commercial manager at Turquoise Mountain, London. “The intimate format of the three-day show allows us to demonstrate the quality of our carpets first-hand,” she continued, noting that her organization’s work is focused on supporting the huge potential of the Afghan carpet industry.
"Buyers see incredible quality at the show and this keeps them coming back. It is an opportunity to see industry trends from an international perspective," added Jack Simantob of Art Resources, a veteran exhibitor at The Rug Show.
Among the returning exhibitors in addition to Art Resources and Turquoise Mountain, prestigious brands Afghan Bazar Rugs, Alpine Rug, Andkhuy Rugs, Anwar Rugs, Farshchi, Kehkashan and Neman International, Sahar, Turkish Rug Company share some of their newest looks for attendees in September.
Afghan Bazar Rugs
Afghan Bazar Rugs showcases its line of exclusive hand-knotted rugs, crafted in Afghanistan. Shown, P4795
Virginia-based handmade rug and kilim brand Afghan Bazar Rugs distinguishes itself with all components of production exclusively done by hand and completely in Afghanistan. On show will be famous carpet designs like Chobrang, Qazaq, Aqcha, Farhan, to name a few. Beloved kilim designs are Maimana Kilim, Modern Kilim and Khodrang Kilim. While most carpets are made to customers’ orders and preferences, Afghan Bazar also offers stock production for its Aqcha Carpets. Kilims are produced regularly for stock.
Alpine Rug
Alpine Rugs showcases a fresh take on classic motifs with its new design 25AL-47.
California-based Alpine Rug, an importer and wholesaler of handmade traditional and contemporary rugs in a variety of styles such as Gabbehs, Fine Aryana, Mamluks, Oushaks, will showcase its newest designs for Rug Show shoppers.
“We look forward to another great trade event this September. This show is important for us to showcase our rugs and meet new people,” says principal Sami Nazar.
Alpine Rug is a generations-old family business that produces and sells high-quality handmade rugs from Afghanistan and Pakistan, including tribal, traditional, modern, and contemporary rugs woven by Turkmen weavers. The designs and colors created by Alpine Rug are made from hand-carded and hand-spun wool using vegetable dyes.
Andkhuy Rugs
A go-to source for richly colored updated traditional motifs, Andkhuy debuts Faryab 102 (SK-295) at TRS.
San Francisco-based Andkhuy Rugs returns this fall to the latest edition of The Rug Show ready to share its newest designs, including the Aryana collection. Look for traditional tribal designs featuring bright colors, as well as neutrals, over-dyed, and modern styles.
“Our goal at Andkhuy Rugs is to bring exquisite hand-knotted rugs from Afghanistan to our vendors across the United States,” says owner Anwar. “We aim to showcase the artistry and tradition of Afghan rug making while supporting skilled artisans and their communities.”
Anwar Rugs
Anwar Rugs heads back to The Rug Show this fall and debuts its fresh take on classic motifs.
Georgia-based Anwar Rugs returns to The Rug Show this September, with a broad selection of Afghani and Egyptian rugs in up-to-date colors and designs, including Serapis, Oushaks, and reproduction Egyptian rugs in soft, antique finishes—all made from hand-spun, natural vegetable-dyed wool. “We’re excited to share our latest productions in person with buyers this fall,” says Anwar Tewala, principal.
Art Resources

Industry powerhouse Art Resources has shared its woven artistry every year at The Rug Show since the event’s inception. “The Rug Show is important because it’s the only show run by the exhibitors themselves,” says the company's Max Moussavi. “We have participated from the first edition, with Art Resources’ principal Jack Simantob as one of TRS founders with Ramin Mobayen.”
“We have several new designs that we made especially to debut for the show,” says Moussavi. “We will be presenting our new programmed lines in modern and abstract designs, in addition to our traditional programmed rugs and traditional one-of-a-kind rugs.”
Farshchi Inc.
Farshchi showcases its modernized adaptations of classics at the upcoming Rug Show in New York.
Farshchi will display its contemporary designs and flatweaves, as well as vintage and antique Persian carpets and beautiful examples of tribal artistry. “We offer a large selection of Gabbeh, Kilim, and Tibetan designs woven in Southwest Persia with handspun and plant-dyed wool,” Nooshin Farshchi says. “Our traditional rugs are classic Persian designs, while our antique rugs are a special work of art in their individuality and beauty.”
Kehkashan Rugs
Kehkashan will highlight its latest hand-knotted Oushak inspired patterns, crafted in Northern Afghanistan.
Veteran exhibitor Kehkashan, a California-based company, has been producing excellent handmade carpets and providing world-class services in Afghanistan since 1920. Founder Khairullah Karimi began his rug journey while in high school, assisting in his father’s rug business—dyeing wools, designing, and later with production.
“Our rugs are made in Northern Afghanistan by Turkmen tribal weavers using the finest Ghazni wool and vegetable natural vegetable dyes. Our main rug production is designed for the US, Turkey and European markets. We look forward to the 2024 show and are excited to share our newest productions,” says Karimi.
Neman International
Long-time Rug Show exhibitor Neman International returns to the 2024 fall event and features its newest pieces.

Award-winning Neman International is a long-time exhibitor of The Rug Show. Since the 1970s, the company's specialties have included high-quality Indian programmed lines, traditional Persian designs, South Persian rugs with nomadic and folklore symbols, antique-inspired decorative reproductions, and more.
Using the finest Ghazni wool, Neman International also produces an extensive range of Pakistani-woven carpets in traditional colors and earth tones. Satar will feature the latest additions to its Serapi collection with a new medallion design hand-knotted of wool.
German-based exhibitor Satar Carpet GmbH will showcase nomadic and modern rugs, vegetable-dyed, and fine wool carpets such as Ariana, Kaizar, Kasak, Mamlouk, Beltun, Galaxy, Serapi, and Suzani—plus many other types of modern and tribal items.
“This is our first time participating in The Rug Show USA,” says Wase Rasul. “We believe this show has potential for us because it is mainly for the US market and the US market for oriental carpets and rugs is unique. It’s particularly important for our handmade rugs and kilims,” said Rasul, noting that Satar will be offering its latest colors and designs. “We have always tried to follow market color trends to create the perfect match for the latest in home décor. And quality is not a thing that we would ever compromise.”
Turkish Rug Company
Turkish Rug Co. debuts a fresh line of high-quality hand-knotted patterns ranging from geometrics to Oushak styles.
Turkish Rug Co., with galleries in Houston and Atlanta, will be featuring high-quality hand-knotted rugs in its newest colors and designs. “The Rug Show is important for us to target our wholesale clients and I’m excited to be exhibiting again. I have so many great things to show,” says Veli Soylemez, who noted his company is the biggest Turkish Oushak producer.

Turquoise Mountain continues its mandate to support local weaving communities and showcases its newest designs

Turquoise Mountain will present a range of designs which showcase the artistry of its Afghan weavers. From Tiger in a Mughal Garden, a modern reimaging of the luxurious 17th century Mughal pashmina carpets to a series of prayer rugs with patterns inspired by the motifs in the Prophets Mosque in Saudi Arabia, to modern contemporary designs inspired by nature, the carpets illustrate Turquoise Mountain’s increasing focus on programmed rugs.
“We are most excited to showcase the depth and breadth of Afghan weavers, specifically in regard to design, color, and sensibility,” said Alison Gray. "We have been working on some unique creations for Afghanistan.”
