RugNews montage of High Point Rug introductions
A mélange of fashion forward area rug designs will debut at showrooms across the High Point campus this fall.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- With dozens of area rug exhibitors introducing their latest trend-forward collections, retail buyers and designers heading to High Point Market will have the opportunity to shop the most innovative weaving and design advancements available.

In fact, rug exhibitors continue to ratchet up the caliber of area rugs for market shoppers, offering cutting-edge designs across price points. New machine-woven designs feature inventive constructions to inject more color, softness and texture into their finished products, and this includes hot-selling categories such as machine-washable rugs and indoor-outdoor pieces that have the hand of indoor-only rugs. Correspondingly it also has prompted some machine-woven vendors to re-explore wool machine-wovens, which marry natural materials, durability and competitive pricing.

What's more, clever designs, weaves and fibers at the high-end inject new life into a category once dominated by traditional motifs in hand-knotted wool. Fall market brings with it more luxurious rug introductions, with many high-end rug brands offering pure silk pieces or injecting silk into a design's accents. Now wool gets a new luxury lease on life with many hand-knot specialists upgrading to alpaca, cashmere, mohair and merino options.

In the industry's most comprehensive guide to area rug debuts at High Point Market, RugNews.com showcases groundbreaking debuts to bolster 2024’s final selling season. In Part 1, we cover rug showrooms from A to K. Part 2 continues the coverage with showrooms L through U.
