LAS VEGAS -- Heading to winter markets in Las Vegas at both World Market Center and Surfaces, Couristan anticipates 2020 will be a strong year, building on growth experienced in both its area rug and broadloom divisions during 2019.
"Our expectations are high for 2020, as we continue to develop products for each of our distribution channels," said Larry Mahurter, vice president of marketing and advertising. "We are learning quickly that products have become more distribution classified than ever before and we are working with our channels to develop products that will thrive in today's market."
The Fort Lee, New Jersey-based company's top top-selling area rugs continue to be its outdoor products. At the same time, "medium-priced collections of poly and wool, such as our Easton, continue to thrive," Mahurter said.
In addition, the company's broadloom division continues to report sales increases as well, with some 120 new introductions in the category during 2018 and 2019, and more releases expected during Surfaces 2020 in Las Vegas.
"Broadloom is a significant part of our business as we are recognized as a luxury product, and our custom rug capabilities have enhanced our sales growth within this category. Surfaces set the tone for the entire year for us in this category and we have concentrated on delivering products that are innovative in terms of construction and texture."
