CRANBURY, N.J. - After years in development, Annie Selke introduces the Masterpiece collection, a new high-end lineup ion nine area rugs featuring Annie Selke’s take on traditional Oushak rugs. Handcrafted by master weavers in India using he premium New Zealand wool, these quality area rug feature superior hand-knotted construction designed to last for generations to come.
“Annie Selke has been a trusted resource for home design and inspiration since the early 90’s’,” says Neil Hegwood, chief merchandising officer. “As trends and tastes have evolved so has the brand. The Masterpiece collection is the first step in a new direction and we’re so excited to finally be able to pull back the curtain and share these special rugs that really are true works of art. They are not created in a production line and the craftsmanship is reminiscent of 500 year old traditions. This is a convergence of an old craft and a new Annie Selke.”

Each rug is made of a blend of fibers that includes 64 percent New Zealand wool, 22 percent cotton, 10 percent polyester for added durability. The wool is naturally stain-resistant and provides a soft, luxurious feel underfoot with a plush pile height of .74". The Persian hand-knotted technique is a time-honored skill where each knot is tied by hand by master weavers and it takes three artisans up to 480 hours to make an 8x10 rug.
Each rug is available in 2.5 x 8, 5x8, 6x9, 8x10, 9x12 and 10x14. A 5x8 retails for $1,738.
