GAN took home two 2023 NYCxDesign Awards including one for its GIRO rug collection.

NEW YORK -- Now in its eighth year, the NYCxDESIGN Awards honors outstanding products and projects in categories that span major areas of design, from architecture to interiors, from products to accessories. In the Residential Flooring category GAN beat out rug finalists Apadana Rugs, Perennials and Tapis Rouge; FLOR also made it to the final round for its new Leaps And Bounds carpet tile.

RESIDENTIAL FLOORING WINNER: GAN

Designed in collaboration with design studio MUT Design, the hand-tufted GIRO by GAN is inspired by optical art.

Gandia Blasco's GAN division won in two NYCxDesign categories, including Outdoor Furniture and Residential Flooring. It's new GIRO collection. Part of the Valencia, Spain-based company's collaboration with award-winning MUT Design, also based in Valencia, GIRO is hand-tufted of virgin wool and creates a graphic play with an Op-Art feel. The design is based on a succession of spirographic curves that generate the optical illusion of a tube rolled up on itself. The rugs, available in three main colors: violet, peach, and graphite, feature different textures and heights to enhance the sense of depth and volume.
