ATLANTA -- Jaipur Living, a global leader in the premium, artisan-made rug and home decor industry, is proud to announce that together with its sister brand Jaipur Rugs, they have been awarded the SA8000 Certification, the world’s leading social certification program. This achievement emphasizes the brand's unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and the highest standards of social accountability.

The SA8000, established by Social Accountability International (SAI), is an internationally recognized framework that promotes and advances healthy workplace practices. Each company is examined based on various key areas of social standards including child labor, forced labor, health and safety, freedom of association, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, compensation, and management system. Receiving the SA800 certification is a testament to Jaipur Living’s adherence to fair labor throughout its supply chain.

Jaipur Living prioritizes the welfare of its artisans and employees, striving to create a positive impact in the communities in which it operates and beyond. The company provides training in various skills for life and work, while supporting holistic development with an emphasis on education, healthcare and basic human needs to further socio-economic progress in rural India. Jaipur Living aims to establish a new and exemplary standard of working conditions for its network of employees and the industry at large.

“Since 1978 it has been our promise to treat all levels of our workforce from the artisans to leadership and everyone in between with the respect and dignity they deserve,” said Asha Chaudhary, CEO of Jaipur Living. “Today we employ over 50,000 artisans who represent the core of our business; no one can match their hard work, skill and dedication to our craft. I am honored to share that through our unwavering commitment, we received the ‘SA8000 Certificate’. This certificate is a demonstration of our dedication and support of the work they do on a day-to-day basis.”

As a trailblazer in the textile and home decor industry, Jaipur Living has vehemently championed sustainability, transparency, quality, and social responsibility. The SA8000 not only reinforces these values, but also serves as inspiration and a challenge for similar organizations to pursue ethical practices and fair treatment of workers.
