HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point spring market-goers were the first to check out Kaleen's re-merchandized showroom that featured its latest cut and sew introductions as well as its newest customizable LUXE area rug program. The revamped showroom reflects Kaleen's strategic decision to focus on its core strength in broadloom and hand-crafted area rugs.

"For 2024 we have been building on our biggest successes to tap emerging opportunities with retailers, designers, hospitality clients and end-consumers – with the goal to, ultimately, fuel even greater growth for our entire business,” Monty Rathi, COO, said. “Our customer is rapidly shifting to a more discerning clientele with a penchant for fashion-forward design in artisan-crafted qualities and custom-made styles.”

Kaleen announced late last year that it is shifting its emphasis to its broadloom and custom programs and highlighted its four broadloom labels (Hook & Beam, Home and Porch, Kaleen Broadloom and PureLife) at spring High Point Market, as well as the latest additions to its high-end LUXE label stocked and custom-sized area rugs.

Throughout the Kaleen Showplace showroom, the latest cut and sew options took center stage with area rug sized displays of the latest broadloom introductions. The handcrafted Home and Porch in-out label rolled out a range of new collections that include geometric designs ranging from stripes to diamond pattern, with Southern Soal, a wide stripe pattern, the best-seller. This performance broadloom carpet is handmade of 100 percent recycled PET polyester and can accommodate any size up to 16 feet by 85 feet, including shapes (rectangle, square, octagon, round and oval). And retailers and designers gave a big thumbs up to short delivery time in as little as seven to 10 days for custom fabrication.

From the Hook & Beam lineup, the Sonora Sands collection is among the new bestsellers. Sonora Sands features an animal-print-inspired motif woven of New Zealand wool and a wool blend. Also, the Wildwood pattern is a favorite for its interlocking geometric pattern reminiscent of tilework.

Retailers and designers also stopped in the Kaleen showroom to shop the company’s successful high-end handcrafted LUXE label. For spring, Kaleen launched four new collections. “With these latest style additions, we’re doubling the size and breadth of LUXE,” Rathi added. “Now, LUXE spans 65 designs, each available in multiple colorways, and all available in custom sizes -- direct from fabrication in India to your floor in 30 days via airfreight.”

The new Nectar collection was a top seller and resonated with buyers for its raised broken linear pattern on a striated ground. Market-goers also gave a thumbs up to Alma for its organic and tonal styling and nubby texture.

Kaleen adds the hand-loomed Nectar collection of geometric motifs to the LUXE lineup for spring shoppers.

Rathi noted that Kaleen has invested significantly in its design, manufacturing, and operations to support increased sales for LUXE collections, and the company is now reaping the benefits. LUXE area rugs are stocked in three standard sizes and are also available for broadloom applications. The company's India facility stocks each LUXE design in carpet rolls to create custom sizes and shapes (within 50-foot long and 15-foot-wide dimensions), with delivery available in 30 days for airfreight or 90 days via ship.

Rug buyers seeking high-end pieces give the hand-woven Alma a thumbs up for its textural tonal solid styling.

“As our product qualities and styles have elevated, so has our brand – prompting a new direction toward mid- to upscale styles for higher-income customer sets with more access to disposable income and greater access to fashion-forward design refreshes for their living and working environments,” Rathi said
