Area rug companies celebrated their High Point Market showroom debuts with ribbon-cutting celebrations.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Rug companies were on the move at the fall 2024 edition of High Point Market, with seven new, expanded or relocated showrooms premiering in locations throughout the market’s sprawling complex.

Capel more than doubles the size of its former High Point space with a 9,000+ square foot showroom at 200 N. Hamilton, hobnobbing with high-end furniture brands and other favorite designer vendors. Safavieh snaps up Capel’s former 4,000 foot space in Historic Market Square, seamlessly integrating it into its furniture and rug showrooms, allowing for a flowing presentation of cross-category lifestyle vignettes, and a dedicated lighting showroom across two aisles.

At IHFC, the big news was the debut of Lavin Rugs, an upstart rug manufacturer under the Quorum International Inc. umbrella, next door to sister company Cyan Design. The expansive showroom was unveiled with a grand opening meet and greet with Lavin’s celeb designer partner Tamara Day, who also has a licensed lighting collection with Quorum.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams celebrated its first market as a Surya-owned company with the grand opening party for its second-floor showroom at IHFC Green. Adding to the mystique of the brand’s relaunch, windows of the showroom were curtained so that guests at the party were first to see the new line -- which by the way was merchandised with area rugs in lifestyle vignettes throughout.

Premiering its first permanent High Point showroom post-Covid, Couristan doubled its previous space with the premiere of showroom D335 in the Design Wing at IHFC.

Fibre by Auskin also moved to a larger showroom in the IHFC Hamilton wing (H313) to accommodate its growing lineup of plush natural fiber rugs and home décor. And luxury rug studio Rug & Kilim doubled the size of its IHFC space H315, breaking through to the showroom next door. Rug & Kilim continues to draw crowds of designers to its Salon at the Suites at Market Square showroom to double down on its High Point presence.
