Safavieh Soho retail showroom is part of the Soho Design District in Manhattan's iconic neighborhood.
NEW YORK – Soho Design District (SDD), celebrating its 10th anniversary of empowering design focused brands and preserving its namesake New York City historical district, has named Safavieh to its 2024 membership roster.
The Safavieh retail showroom at 150 Thompson St. in Manhattan joins ranks with a prestigious list of international design companies with Soho-based showrooms and businesses, among them Artemide, Foscarini, MOMA Design Store, Carl Hansen & Sons and Poggenpohl.
“We are excited to support SDD, and congratulate them on their 10th anniversary milestone,” said Darioush Yaraghi, Safavieh creative director. “We look forward to working with them in support of their mission, the values we share and their efforts to build a community that makes a difference.”
Safavieh retail showrooms offer an exclusive selection of curated luxury international furniture and accessories brands,
as well as the company’s own collection.
SDD, which partners with AIA, Brick & Wonder, and NYCxDesign, gives members exposure to world renowned architects, as well as design and real estate leaders. To celebrate its10th anniversary, SDD has launched initiatives spanning from product highlights, open showroom days, panel conversations, collaborations with other industry organizations, and networking opportunities every month.
“Our Soho showroom designers report positive feedback to these events, particularly the promotion of member showrooms during NYCxDesign, which runs concurrently with ICFF each spring,” Yaraghi said. Designers visiting Safavieh retail showrooms will find an exclusive selection of curated luxury international furniture and accessories brands, as well as the company’s own collection of indoor and outdoor furniture, upholstery, lighting, and home accents which are designed in-house.
Safavieh's Soho store includes luxury brands and the Safavieh label of rugs indoor and outdoor furniture, upholstery, lighting,
and home accents which are designed in-house.
In the area rug category, Manhattan consumers are trending to Safavieh’s Saint Tropez and Bedford collections, two of the showrooms’ best sellers, Yaraghi said. Saint Tropez is a hand-loomed loop and cut pile textural shag in poly/cotton blend that comes in standard sizes as well as runners and rounds. Bedford offers a refined look with abstracted traditional and transitional motifs in fashion colors. The rugs are hand-loomed of viscose, wool and cotton.
Transitional area rug designs are a favorite with New York shoppers, and Safavieh's hand-loomed Bedford collection
is a bestselling lineup of erased traditional motifs.
