ABC CARPET & HOME RUG PROMOTION BRINGS BACK SUMMER OF LOVE
ABC in-store signage invites consumers to return to the Summer of Love.
NEW YORK -- ABC Carpet &Home is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love with a month-long promotion of hand woven semi-antique and vintage rugs that reflect the groovy mood of 1967.
The rugs, in ABC's flagship store on the Sixth Floor, are grouped into nine categories, evoking the Sixties counter-culture:
"Our aim is to update the perception of antique Oriental rugs that are commonly referred to as 'traditional' by showcasing their diversity and contemporary appeal through the implementation of an innovative promotion that resonates with the modern lifestyles of today's consumer," said Angela Gruszka, public relations manager for ABC.
The promotion will run for the month of August on ABC's Sixth Floor Oriental Rug Department. Retail price range is $699 to $5,999.

The ABC Summer of Love assortment bridges the gap between traditional and modern while capturing the essence of distant cultures. Experimental use of bright and contrasting hues explore a variation of intensities and combinations. Modern, graphic prints unite with elaborately detailed designs. Rich textural interest is exhibited through various weaving techniques and pile lengths.
The Summer of Love refers to the summer of 1967, when individuals from around the world flocked to San Francisco to join in a countercultural revolution of new ideas and behaviors. The event evoked an explosion of creative expression and spirituality that brought about a new psychedelic aesthetic in art, fashion, and popular culture.
The Summer of Love Collection is now available on the 6th Floor at ABC Carpet and Home.
