debuts heading to High Point.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A shift towards sustainability, personal expression, and comfort in home design are the top interior design trends influencing area rug debuts at the upcoming High Point Market. Rug buyers will find plenty of fresh area rug introductions that tick off those boxes and they will have a range of weaves and styles to choose from.

From high-end hand-knotted area rugs in sumptuous natural and sustainable wools and silks to high-quality machine-woven rugs now available in wool or wool blends, to more budget friendly indoor-outdoor rugs made from recycled PET fiber, rug introductions span price points to meet the needs of not only retailers shopping the show but also of designers sourcing products.

Hand-tufted wool rugs are also enjoying renewed popularity and are celebrated for their natural materials, textures and the intricate, often breathtaking designs they allow.

Texture remains a dominant focus across categories, with new techniques bringing fresh dimensions to both traditional and modern rug designs. And while top new styles lean toward updated classic and traditional motifs, designers and retail buyers will still find a variety of contemporary styles — from painterly abstracts and florals to bold geometrics. In addition, comfort underfoot is once again a priority, with showrooms emphasizing both machine-made and hand-crafted rugs featuring denser, plush piles for added luxury.

In this curated buyers’ guide, RugNews.com highlights standout area rug debuts from more than 20 showrooms at the Spring High Point Market.
