A perennial top-selling lineup, Prismatic by Nourison Home's new green and silver hued PRS42 was a hit for its on-point coloration and design.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- There was a lot of buzz around Nourison’s newest licensing partner DKNY at the fall 2024 edition of High Point Market. The designer branded rugs include two different labels: DKNY and DKYNY Pure, and designs within each are coordinated so that retailers can cross-merchandise from each, and consumers can create a cohesive look across multiple rooms.

“There is a big trend for the younger generation, where brands are becoming more important,” said Steven Peykar of Nourison. “They equate brands like DKNY to quality and trend-forward fashion. If you have the right products and the right aesthetics, the brand helps the retailer to move the product. It makes our job as salespeople easier," Peykar said, adding that the DKNY introductions proved an instant hit at market.

DKNY BY NOURISON HOME

Among the DKNY launches is the Grand Street collection, made from softly textured fibers and finished with a silk-like sheen.

The coveted DKNY label targets young consumers, and its first DKNY Rugs by Nourison offers a range of modern patterns and sleek finishes and is OEKO-TEX certified to be free of harmful chemicals. Each collection is named after a street or a neighborhood in New York City. West End Avenue is a range of classic checkerboard patterns enhanced with a dimensional high-low weave that has a luxurious texture. These plush rugs are made of 100 percent polyester. Grand Street is also power-loomed of polyester but with a soft low-profile construction and silk-like shimmer. These rugs are softly textured and are easy care. The Central Park West collection offers dynamic organic-styled abstract designs woven of polyester with a high-low cut pile and shimmering finish.

DKNY PURE COLLECTION

DKNY Pure Angles design from Nourison Home is hand-tufted of hand-spun and space-dyed wool.

The DKNY Pure designation, with six collections in the debut, takes inspiration from the Hamptons, where Donna Karan has a home, and is focused on natural materials and handmade constructions. Pure Grids is hand-tufted of wool. The space-dyed yarn is woven in a high-low loop pile of raised squares and features a subtle border, in colorways including ivory, light blue and light green. The hand-knotted Pure Knots collection is crafted of space-dyed wool with a plush, chunky loop texture and soft tonal palette. Pure Angles features a hand-tufted geometric motif of hand-spun space-dyed wool that is woven into a dense loop pile. Pure Patterns is a hand-tufted cut and loop pile with an abstract curvilinear pattern. These rugs are crafted of space-dyed wool. The handwoven Pure Multi Weave rugs feature soft tonal variations, and a contemporary stripe-inspired pattern composed of three elements: a loop pile, cut pile and soumak weave of wool-poly fiber blend.

NOURISON HOME DEBUTS

Showcased in the Nourison Home showroom was its hand-knotted Heritage Vine collection, part of the Reserve by
Nourison label.

Under the Nourison Home label there was also plenty of freshness to shop across weaves and price points. At the high-end, Nourison showcased its Heritage Vine collection under its Reserve label.  Offering traditional Persian floral and vine patterns, finished with short fringe, these rugs are crafted with vegetable-dyed yarns that imparts an antique effect.

For shoppers seeking handmade looks at more attainable prices and fashion-forward styling Maison was a top choice. This wool hand-tufted lineup offers traditional Persian patterns in neutral palettes with a high-low loop pile. Another market favorite is Shadows, which was introduced at the summer Las Vegas Market and was an instant-hit. This power-loomed collection showcases elaborate floral patterns made from durable yet silky soft polyester fibers making it ideal for busy households. These Persian-inspired rugs are finished at both ends with short fringe.

And no Nourison show would be complete without new Prismatic offerings. This best-selling collection, hand-tufted in a plush, dense construction, is crafted from a sumptuous wool blend and woven with shimmering silk-like fibers. On display were several new shaped Prismatic designs that showcase Nourison’s ability to create virtually any custom shape via its Reserve Custom Studio. And the new collection's fall line extensions featured its trademarked richly colored abstract designs with dimensional hand-carved details. The three new designs featured dynamic abstract designs featuring swirls and ripples. One debut (PRS40) had a look of sculpted waves in shades of blue, while another was an avant-garde styled pattern (PRS41) of swirls of black, ivory and gray. And lastly was PRS42 which features a green hued ripple motif full of movement and texture.

The avant-garde style of Prismatic's new PRS41 designs proved a showstopper for its dramatic statement.
