The Dixie Group Announces Two New Brands: 1866 by Masland and Décor by Fabrica

High-end decorative lines, 1866 by Masland and Décor by Fabrica are officially launching at Surfaces 2022 but will soon be ready for private customer presentations.

The product assortment from new TDG brand 1866 by Masland builds on the company’s reputation for fashion.

DALTON, Ga. -- TDG [The Dixie Group] Residential, a luxury soft surface floor covering company, has announced the rebranding of its decorative segment product lines.

In making the announcement, T.M. Nuckols, president of TDG Residential, said that Masland Wool is being rebranded as 1866 by Masland and Fabrica Wool is rebranded as Décor by Fabrica.

Len Andolino, vice president - Decorative Division, who joined TDG in February 2021, will lead marketing, merchandising, and product development efforts in each of these new brands. TDG entered the high-end decorative business segment in 2007 with a handful of imports in both broadloom and area rugs, in addition to internally tufted wool styles. In July 2013 TDG purchased Robertex, a Calhoun, based wool manufacturer to grow the business further.

Andolino stated, “We have a great foundation of products, and the fact that we are the largest American based manufacturer of tufted wool will set us apart from our competition as we start to import heavily from around the world.

“We will no longer be just offering wool. Although wool will continue to be our primary fiber, we will now be adding new constructions and fibers to our assortment through our expanding global supply chain partners,” he continued.
“We felt with the additional product content being added to our Decorative assortment that it was time to create new brands to further our commitment to this category,” Andolino explained.

The year 1866 in new brand 1866 by Masland represents the year C.H. Masland & Sons was founded 155 years ago. “This nod to our long heritage will set the stage to showcase our company as the ‘Founder of Fashion’ in the flooring industry. Décor by Fabrica was created to highlight the essence of product excellence with a focus on high fashion for the decorative market. Both Masland and Fabrica are highly respected brands known throughout our industry as fashion leaders, so it was important to integrate those names into these two new brands” added Andolino.

Both brands will have distinct product assortments with their own merchandising for the dealer network. The Masland and Fabrica territory mangers will be showing the newest styles and merchandising options shortly. Surfaces 2022 will be the official launch of both new brands.
