MACY'S NAMES MINK TO TAKE OVER AREA RUG DEPARTMENTS NATIONWIDE NEW YORK -- Effective in October 2009, all area rug departments in Macy's stores nationwide will be operated by Kenneth L. Mink & Sons, Inc. under a lease arrangement, according to an announcement by Macy's corporate communications division. Until this point, 75 area rug departments within Macy's have been operated by Mink and another 139 have been operated directly by the company. "Going forward under Mink, an experienced and successful rug retailer, Macy's will provide its customers with a more consistent offering of quality area rugs that can be advertised and marketed on a local and national basis," according to Macy's.
