HIGH POINT, N.C. – Attendees at the Fall 2024 edition of High Point Market were treated to a glimpse of what Oriental Weavers has in store for 2025, all on show at the company’s newly remodeled IHFC showroom, which was unveiled at last spring’s event.

From new introductions to line extensions, the buzzword was fashion, and on-point designs and color news were evident at every turn and in an expanded array of weaves and price points.

The Clarke collection exemplifies the company’s move to grow its handmade offerings and is representative of that initiative, emphasizing in particular rugs made in India. Clarke is hand-loomed of wool and viscose, and available in larger sizes, up to 10x14 feet. This collection, featuring watery abstract patterns, is reminiscent of shibori dyeing,

A robust range of introductions cemented the company’s leadership position in the indoor-outdoor category. One bestseller at the High Point showroom was the Havana collection of indoor/outdoor rugs marrying extraordinary patterns with a cheerful palette of bold pinks, yellows, oranges, greens, and blues. A variety of designs ranging from solids with detailed borders to overblown florals in this collection are sharply priced at $99 for a 5x8.

Buyers elevated the Cavett collection to another of OW’s ‘best of market’ intros. Power-loomed in Turkey of 100 percent polyester, these rugs have a low-profile and use space-dyed yarn to create color dimension in a range of transitional patterns. A washed palette of navy, teal, blush and other colors is used to depict patterned stripes, abstract designs, and more traditional motifs like repeated medallions.

Also resonating with buyers was Mallory. This collection homes in on fashion’s demand for earth tones like clay and browns as well as soft neutrals, and slate blue in a shrink polyester and polypropylene construction that shows off lots of texture. The machine-made rugs have a suggested retail of $699 in 5x8.

Finally, OW showed off its luxurious hand-knotted wool Palace collection in an entry display featuring a range of Oushak motifs and new colorways styled for today’s consumers.
