HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The excitement in the Surya showroom was particularly focused on the company’s handmade rug offerings, with a number of new introductions and line expansions rolling out -- and also surrounding its launch of Galey Alix licensed products.

The company’s newest licensing partnership alongside DIY designer and star of HBO MAX's Home in a Heartbeat, Galey Alix, who has a major fanbase following her on social media, was introduced under Surya's new Livabliss label geared toward major retailers. The program, the designer’s first licensed line, includes a range of Surya's product categories, from furniture to lighting and decor to rugs.

"The Galey Alix rug launch has been a great success, exceeding expectations with an outpouring of positive feedback from customers," said DeAnna Hain, marketing director, Surya. "It’s clear this collection is resonating with our audience in a big way!"

Galey Alix Design approach to decorating is unconventional and very of the moment because clients hire Galey to surprise them with her designs and unlike most projects, her designs are completed in a single weekend. Her viral weekend surprise renovation videos have earned her a following of more than five million social media followers and is why viewers tune into her HBO Max series.

FAVORITE HANDMADE DEBUTS

A Surya market best-seller is its new hand-knotted Zeenat collection, crafted of Ghazni wool.

A fall standout is the just introduced Zeenat collection of hand-knotted rugs crafted of Ghazni wool. These rugs offer a traditional vintage look, with a small, repeated pattern and a short fringe. Another top choice was the debuting Bijar collection, which has been one of Surya’s best-received introductions. These pieces have a weathered, zero-pile antique look with a traditional bordered pattern. The newest additions to the hand-knotted Riviera collection were also a standout at fall market. Among the three fresh geometrics, a notable favorite (RIV-2306) features a solid center with an intricate tribal-inspired border pattern with a ground of rich brown and motif in ivory.

Surya expands its Riviera collection with three new designs and a standout was design RIV-2306.

The debuting hand-knotted Folklore collection combines flatweave and cut pile and the resulting updated block pattern design is infused with texture. The Ventura collection of tonal geometric patterns offers a tight hand-knotted weave crafted of wool of varied thickness for texture with a subtle geometric pattern. The hand-woven Irfan collection features a nubby texture woven of contrasting colored yarns in a simple Scandinavian-inspired pattern.

Another welcome addition to the Surya offering is the Sonia collection, which is hand-loomed but has a performance construction suitable for high-traffic areas. Sonia reworks classic Persian panel-style flatweaves and features neutral colors in textured solids or wide stripes. Iman has texture and color variation and is hand-knotted of viscose and New Zealand wool. The hand-loomed Malcolm collection is made of 100 percent Tencel for a soft hand and lustrous finish. These solid-colored rugs are available in six rich colorways, including dark orange, rust, rust, gold, deep blue, mossy green, and slate gray.
