NEW YORK -- Momeni retail buyers continued to scoop up the company's indoor-outdoor rugs, printed designs and its mid-level Momeni Basics program at the October New York Home Fashions Market, running this week from Oct. 4-7.
At the first live Market Week since September 2019, Momeni greeted buyers attending the New York event at its 3 W. 30th St. second floor space, which it moved into in 2017. On show were the latest designs from Novogratz by Momeni, which recently partnered with JCPenney to offer Novogratz branded home textiles and rugs.
MOMENI BASICS TAKES OFF
Among the market hits in New York are Momeni Basic's hand-tufted, chevron-style Charles, with taupe being top of charts.
Last fall, at the October 2020 High Point Market, Momeni introduced its new Momeni Basics program of foundational rugs. The program kicked off with five collections in three qualities: outdoor machine-made, hand-tufted and hand-knotted.
"Momeni Basics is a concept born from our foundation rugs that offer pure texture and color in a variety of fibers and price points," Reza Momeni said. "These pieces focus on the importance of subtle texture, warm colors and beautiful foundation rugs and our tufted designs have been very popular with buyers."
The wool hand-tufted James and Charles collections, on show in New York, are Momeni Basics' mid-priced options. Introduced in light blue, denim, gray and natural colorways, these two collections soon will roll out warmer tones such as rusts and browns. In addition, for New York market-goers Momeni introduced a new soft green option for its active solid James collection.

PRINTED DESIGNS KEEP GAINING GROUND
The new Gemini collection by Momeni mimics the look of hand-knotted classics and is printed on both sides.
Printed area rugs remain a popular choice for big box, mass merchants and e-commerce buyers attending New York Market Week. Among the debuts is the new Gemini collection of traditional designs, printed on both sides to mimic the look of true hand-knotted classics.
