NEW YORK -- Tayse returned to New York Home Fashions Market for the first-time since pandemic struck, and impressed retailers with a showroom double the size of its former space at 295 Fifth Avenue. The machine-made rug importer rolled out 86 new area rug collections, [grew its running line with four lineups] and expanded its outdoor mat program with 26 additions at its first in-person event in three years.

"It's our first show in three years and we are excited to be back," said Jeremy Guider, senior product development specialist. "A New York showroom makes the most sense for Tayse because of our product." Guider added that Tayse has become known as a source for face-to-face woven rugs, which comprise a significant portion of the company's business. In addition, an important category for the rug vendor is its performance indoor-outdoor rugs, which account for about 40 percent of the company's business.

Tayse greeted New York Home Fashions Market buyers in-person for the first time in three years at the spring event.

For spring New York Home Fashions Market the company rolled out several performance driven products, grew its machine-washable lineup, as well its shag offering and indoor only designs.

In the performance category, a newcomer is Percy, a reversible indoor-outdoor lineup that offers a different pattern on each side. These rugs are machine-woven flatweaves made of polypropylene in Turkey. Another popular choice was the debuting Dazzle collection of vibrantly colored motifs with a rib-like effect. Dazzle rugs feature a machine-woven Wilton loop with a non-skid backing.

The company also introduced more affordable printed indoor-outdoor options such as Adria, and continues to grow its line of printed, machine-washable pieces. Tayse introduced several new constructions in its washable assortment including its first to incorporate a non-skid back: Jordon, which features traditional motifs in contemporary colorations, and Elis, which includes blue and gray toned rugs in modern designs. Another introduction in the washable category is Konya, offering machine-woven prints crafted of cotton for a chenille styling.

Tayse's new space provided plenty of space to its latest machine-washable area rugs.

For shoppers seeking indoor rugs, Tayse introduced Griffin, a zero-pile design face-to-face woven of polyester. It also showcased the textural Jasmine collection, crafted of polyester and shrink poly, and Miller, face-face-to-face-woven of space-dyed polyester.

Shags continue to be popular with mass merchants, big box and e-commerce buyers and Tayse included several new options in that category. Downy shag collection, made of polyester with cotton-jute back, and Remy, a lineup with three pile heights, made their market debuts. And, Tayse's popular Imperial shag sees a line extension for spring shoppers.

With more floor space than its prior NYC showroom, Tayse's new 230 Fifth Ave. suite can accommodate a generous
seating area with plenty of natural light.
